: Affirmative Action an insult to minorities

The courts are again refusing to allow our society be free & color blind (University of Michigan case this week).

The white elite liberals (& the Jesse Jackson race-pimper elites) are determined to perpetuate the notion that certain minorities are inferior to others.

This week's decision will only serve to belittle & insult certain minorities, and maintain a cloud of illegitimacy over all their future accomplishments.

It's no wonder African Americans gravitate so strongly to pro sports. Because pro sports are not subject to silly set-asides & racial quotas, the athletes NEVER have to live with the stigma that they only got to their position through preferences. Everyone knows their success is due to PURE HARD WORK & FREE MARKET COMPETITION.

The worst thing that could happen to Jesse Jackson is for more minorities to save money, to buy property, to invest in businesses, to get ahead, to keep their families together & strong and to gain credibility by actually condemning (& not condoning) the actions of the tiny fraction who break laws.

The liberal politicians know that the best way to grab power is to continually divide people, to focus always on people's differences instead of their similarities, and to foment class warfare.

I'm fed up with folks PRESUMING something about my ability just because of my skin pigment! Aren't you?

heh.. That's the world for you. Not so much the world, but the people dwelling in it. And the saddest part about it is is that we don't seem to be heading into a direction for change.

Absolutely right. This Supreme Court decision was a disaster. It basically is declaring that it is okay to discriminate, and it is okay to say that minorities are inferior and need some help. That's racism. They trampled on the 14th Amendment which gives EQUAL protection to everyone. I think affirmative action is racist and a facade behind which bigots hide their prejudices by claiming that it's a good thing.

when it comes to education affirmative action is NOT needed...as a 17 yr old Jamaican who gets As and Bs i find it stupid. black or white if you don't have the points, credits, or average to get into a perticular college maybe thats not the school for you.

At one point there was definately a time and place for some affirmative action programs but this time has passed.

In the 60' s - 80's these programs were they ONLY way some minorities could enter some schools and higher paying positions in the workforce.

That time has passed, attitudes have changed and entrance into schools and jobs should be based on merit only. ( barring the usual nepostism and crap that we all face )

I step off my soap box now ....

Makes you wonder....

If the US is so racist, why have many different minorities (several who've faced immense bigotry in the past) been able to vault past all other Americans in terms of income, education, wealth, business ownership, etc?

Maybe it's because they refused to listen to the race-baiting advocates of victimhood, ignoring accusations of "selling-out", and instead focused on the bounty this country has to offer to those who work hard and live responsibly.

Seems obvious to me.:square:

I'm a white male which means with affirmative action means I get nothing even if I'm more qualified. Why you minorities got to hate on white bread?
