: Venting....

I've had probably one of my worst possible days in history.... just one thing after another.... Instead of boring everyone with the details, I'll just vent what broke what was my last straw so-to-speak!

I can't stand yuppie parents with small LOUD children who feel the need to talk to me in a condecending tone (as If I were a 4 year old child) telling me how 'it would be the right thing to do' by NOT leaving my radio on loud first thing in the morning when I back out of my garage because I keep waking up her sleeping kid.... this same kid who screams and yells and causes all sorts of noise disturbances longer than 30 seconds (which is about the amount of time It takes me to back out of my garage and get out of my alley in the morning)

You know, I wouldn't even be as upset if she did more of a 'asking' instead of that 'down talk' to me.... That just burns me up!

I hate how all these folks who feel they are all high and mighty because they are parents feel they have all the rights and no one else does...

I've had 2 new neighbors move in within the last 2 to 3 months with small children and the noise level on weekends is so bad that I cannot and won't even sit in my yard because I can't get any peace and quiet....

I take my bird outside and the police show up in my back yard after 2 squaks because the neighbor's kid cried at the noise but the police do NOTHING when I call to complain about 14 kids yelling and screaming all damn day long..

I guess I just hate kids today.. and how uncontroled they are and loud... I wasn't allowed to yell and scream like that unless I was out at the park away from neighbors...

I really can't stand how parents don't raise their kids with much interaction these days... how they just 'run wild' for the most part...

I guess this couldn't have happened at a worse time.... this whole day has been one frustration after another....

I just hope tomorrow is a better day..

BTW: My response to the belitting tone asking me to keep my music down until I pass her house was " I'll try " ...I should have said (now that I've had time to reflect)... SURE, as long as I can be assured that I will now have piece and quiet on my weekends so that I can read and relax in my own back yard without being irritated with constant yelling, screaming, bashing of objects, etc...."

....o.k. end of rant....

I feel a little better.. ....but not much.... I guess I just need a good night sleep.... I hope anyway...

AND NO, I AM NOT A PARENT NOR DO I WANT A KID!!! I dont' even want a kid in today's society of 'no spanking' and sending a kid to bed without dinner being considered 'child abuse' Damn puritan democrats have made it just about impossible to raise children properly....

Guess what, I got spanked about twice in my childhood and the rest of the time just the threat of it kept me in line... and you know what.... I don't have 'bad' memories of it or any permant scaring from it.... it just was necessary when I was being a typical kid pushing the limit and I found out real quick what not to do again ...or what to stop doing to prevent something happening... etc. etc.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I agree as well. Damn little kids run around and do whatever they want without any consequences. They cry over not getting what they want, they whine, and are just annoying when they are raised correctly by their parents. I was spanked and punished, but I turned out ok, at least i think so, and i have no complaints. Im glad my parents put me in my place and taught me to behave and taught me manners. When i dont know the little child, they usually annoy the hell out of me, but if its family its sort of different, it also has to do to the fact that they behave themselves in comparison to strangers' kids. When i have kids im gonna do the same thing my parents did to me, my kids will listen and will know that im in charge. I will run them, they will not run me as most kids nowadays do. Discipline is the key in my mind.

except you have to WATCH out because these days, kids are taught in school in pre-school and kindergarten that if parents yell at them or hit them (spank them, etc) that they are to call 911 right away and say they are being abused.... VERY SAD...

I have a friend who home schools her kids because of what she saw happing to her friends kids running her with 'I'll call 911 if you yell or hit me or make me go to bed without dinner' crap...

And my other friend has a 'record' now with DCFS because she 'spanked' her boy 3 times and at school he said he got a 'whooping' so the teacher called DCFS....

SO VERY SAD!!!!!!

If I ever do have a kid, which I really don't want, I will spank that kids ass and beat it's ass with a belt, just like my parents beat my ass. Just like Martin Lawrence said, you gotta get these kids when they are young, you gotta put them in their place, show them who's boss. The parents are the boss, no damn little whiney kid - I'M THE BOSS MUTHAFUCKA. Stupid 'timeout' bullshit, stupid 'child abuse' bullshit if you slap your kids ass. People should mind their own fucking business or I'll slap their ass.

You know what you should do Chris, next time you pull out of your driveway, turn your music up louder, piss that bitch off, that's what I'd do.

yeah, its a thought BUT I looked up my village laws on noise and can get a $25 fine for the 1st offense.... and then it goes up to $750 based on the amount of times they call the police (and the police get to say whatever the fine amount is per incident)... The law states that 'neighbor should make at least 1 (preferably 2) attempts at oral and/or written request to keep noise down before calling police....

So I started looking up what WAS allowed and it turns out that folks are allowed to do house work with power tools from 7am until 7pm weekdays....

So if I wanted to get really nasty, I could borrow my dad's power saw (he has a really REALLY loud one) and some wood and wake up early every morning just to take some extra time in my garage to cut up some wood blocks... hehe

.... not that I'd really do that but it was fun to scheme up a way to be 'legal' yet piss of the neighbor.. LOL

You really gotta hate neighbours like that.

It's those type of people that force you to move sometimes because they are so unbearable. The good thing about my neighbours are, they are mostly all asians and can't speak english, so they can't say shit! WOOHOO.

Do it! If it's legal, piss the hell out of them. You know what I'd do is buy some dummy's, dress them up as clowns and have like a "clown tea party" in my backyard with clown music playing all day at a reasonable (legal) level. Those clowns would surely scared the hell out of those bratty kids. I say go for the power saw! The bitch deserves it, pay her back!

....except that I really don't want to piss off my neighbors in my own townhome association.... The 'holyer than thow' mom is my 'neighbor' on the other side of my 6 unit townhome (next to us undesirable townhome owners)... in the 1.2 Mil home and the one who had 14 kids over last Sunday for a b-day party (who keeps calling the cops on my birds squawking) is directly behind our shared back yard... ..in the 2.7MIL home with a 5 car garage...

...they all hate us peons in the townhomes so us townhome folks stick together...

Maybe I'll have to talk to all of them and see if a power saw would disturb them at 7am....

BUT there are other ways to tick them off and get even....

Word has it that I simply have to make an anonymous call to DCFS to get them investigated.... All I have to do is call and say their kid is unsupervised, etc..

BUT My feeling is that I'll keep the radio quiet UNTIL I hear their kid start screaming. shouting, etc.... or their dog barking like crazy.. then all bets are off... .....LOL

Anyway, thanks guys.. it really helps just to scheme up ways of revenge... ...and to hear the support from you guys....

I feel so much better now....thanks....

Power tools, huh?

Methinks wood is waaay to good an insulator.

What you need is to start a new hobby....

How about using a power jigsaw or a sawzall to cut sheets of corrugated tin into small strips?

Big Honkin' sheets of corrugated tin are only $6 at Home Depot!

Just make sure to wear some ear protection!

here's a thought...

One of the big benefits of my loud music in the morning is that I no longer have to come to panic stops because of all the mass amounts of morning joggers... now-a-days they hear me coming and stop...

SOOOOOOO,.... tomorrow morning, I'll be laying on my horn when I leave just to make sure the joggers hear me as I head out the alley....

I dont believe the cops can hold you in violation of a noise ordinance without personally witnessing it. Blasting your music on the way in and out of your garage will never get you caught :)

have you ever thought of asking them to keep thier kids from screeming. i don't want to sound like i am bashing you but this kind of childish shit just pisses me off when people can't just be civilized and say hey, your kids are too loud some times when i am trying to relax. just try it you never know. all i know is that my fucking neighbors party every night untill 3 in the morning and then they fire up thier honda's with the coffee can mufflers and speed away into the night and wake me or my kids up all the time.

and to those of you that say you will have your kids handled, you won't. you are only fooling yourself if you think you can control these animals, nobody can and that's the most stressful thing about bieng a parent. especially in the first 2-4 years of the childs life. and as far as disciplining your children, i have hit my son once and it felt really bad. can you imagine if adults did that. if you show up late to work your boss gets to hit you, don't think so, so why is it okay to hit your kids. people that hit thier kids are just dumb, and they don't realize the other ways to handle the kids. from what i hear, you should not have kids if that's the way you will treat them.

and by the way, i was not looking to have a kid so young either, it just happened and it brings me more love than i ever thought possible. i was 21 when i had my first son and you will never know the love they bring untill you have one. that might sound gay but it's the truth. it's like saying, i want to be single for the rest of my life, i hate companionship. now that i have kids i couldn't imagine how much i would be missing if i didn't. so don't knock it till you try it.

so, for your neighbors, try bieng nice to them before bieng mean to them and let them know how you feel, and if they trully are assholes, then fuck em. all i'm sayin.

here we go... I figured I'd get a parent's perspective soon enough....

NEWSFLASH: There is a HUGE difference between partying until 3am and then doing burnouts VS. leaving your garage at around 8am in the morning with no more than 30 seconds worth of music that is loud as you leave......

BTW: Some kids are really well behaved and 99% of the time they got a spanking at some point and then just needed the threat of it the rest of their childhood...

AND: There is a huge difference between an adult's level of understanding vs' a child (especially at specific ages)...

Anyone who feels ANY child can be punished no matter what with a 'time out' hasn't met my best friend's son.... this kid pushes the limit 110% of the time and I have seen first hand how ineffective the 'acceptable' forms of punishment are vs. how extremly effective a controlled spanking speaks volumes for him to behave...

The difference is being a parent and using a spanking when you are in a controled state of mind (not angry) and use the right amount of force (not too much and not too little) to get the kid to understand in its limited mind that it is NOT GOOD and should not be done again....

KUDOS if you have a kid or kids who are well mannered and don't require spankings....

....and with that, g-night

I feel your pain Chris, we all have BAD DAYS.. like my day today,

It started off me waking up in the morning, downing a red bull, then going to take a math placement test for school.

Took the 2 tests and felt really good. Got my results tonight, I missed the passing grade by 4 points on the first test which was the EASY test, and passed the second test which is the HARD test. In order to take the class I need, I have to pass both. SOOOO I AM KICKING MYSELF IN THE ARSE AS WE SPEAK... then some lady almost hit my G in an I30, didn't even f*cking look, just reversed..

I needed to vent, I still am angry with myself.

Sounds like you need to live further away from your neighbors. I never really had any problem with them since their house is 100 yards away. Even when I have the system cranked, they never complain. Even if they did I'd be like, hey I been here for 20 years, you don't like it you can leave my neighborhood. I always feel wierd when I go to a friends house and they have like 10 feet of grass, a fence, the neighbors 10 feet of grass and the next house.

I've lived here 8 years.. these other folks just moved in.... no one else ever complained... I never crank my stereo in my home and never throw parties.... My only vice is loud music in my car while traveling....

I'm not going to move for several reasons:

a) I was here first
b) I couldn't afford what I really wanted and stay in the same area with the nice commute (I got lucky when I bought in)
c) My problem isn't with the neighbors I share a common wall with on either side of me but the entire homestead's on the other side of our garages and behind our unit (6 townhomes in a row).
d) I just hate how these folks who just move in seem to have more rights and bigger pull (because of bigger pocket books) with the village cops, etc. than me who is considered the 'scum' of the village living in the townhome instead of being a home owner.
e) I refuse to give these folks the sasisfaction of chasing me out of my own home just because they don't like my birds or my automotive music playing...

...and I still can't get into my LAN or T-1 internet connection here at work.... I'm still on dial up.... I HATE THIS DAMN VIRUS KEEPING ME FROM WORKING EFFICIENTLY!

...and this damn help desk take 3-4 days to fix anything...

So my bad day yesterday is continuing into today... oh yeah, it's already 89 degrees and going up to 92 with a heat index of 100+
