If you notice just about every part on the car says Nissan because that is what it is. The valve cover is probably one of the very few parts that say Infiniti.

Dude, you musta got a lemon. Holy snipers, Nissan parts in a Infiniti. What the hell is this world coming to? Why would someone do that to an Infiniti? What a disgrace to the Infiniti community.

if you want everyone to read your post, you make up a really stupid vague title.. that is the message..

I know that back when the Bulls were winning with Jordan and no one could get my boss to read emails that someone on my team sent an email with the title, Free Bulls Tickets! ...and he read that email!!!

I don't think that's true. I used to have a '92 G20. The valve cover on it was exactly the same as the one on my '96. (They both say Infiniti.)

As for the thread name, it's pretty dumb. Show some effort! Ha ha ha. :p

maybe Infiniti just used what they had on the early model P10s before having the Infiniti ones? ...just a thought?!?

There's lot of users on this site that have 91-93 G20's. Tell us what your valve cover looks like. Does it say Nissan or Infiniti?

Wouldn't there be some kinda plate attached to your engine somewhere? And out of curiosity, why do you need the serial number...? If you need to know if it's from a certain production series, you can look at low-port/high-port, valve cover, etc.

I need it to see if its the original engine in my car because the odometer has been changed

Are you sure about that bro??/

The answer to his question is simple. YOUR CAR HAD AN ENGINE SWAP EITHER FROM A SENTRA OR A NX2000. Simple end of story and the mechanic was too lazy to swap valve covers.

Geez

Geez

I'm with this theory. That explains a lot of things. First: your mechanic was hella lazy. Although the SR20DE is a great engine, if your mechanic was cheap and didn't care about what engine he is getting to drop into your car, a crap SR20DE is like any other crap engine....umm....CRAP. Second, that explains why your car is ALL screwed up. Third of all, it shows that your mechanic is all screwed up, and that next time around, you need someone who knows what the fuck they are doing, and actually cares about what happens to your engine. Finallly, this also shows that YOU had bad judgment. Sorry, but although you have yet to pay off your car, you've also been screwed by this mechanic. Bad judgment on your part for not lookin' the mechanic over or getting references. You need a mechanic you know well *or at least some good friends need to know him well* so that you know that you'll get a good job outta him. Either that, or you were simply looking for the cheapest engine swap, regardless of how crappy it was. Look, if you're gonna do something right, do it right the first time. Sorry to say, but you'll probably have to do another swap, with all the maladies plaguing your engine *ooh! SAT word!* Good luck man.

As a first time buyer you probably didny know any better. Its not your fault. Eventho the G20 is really rare probably even more so in vancouver you should test drive and look at more than one to compare for next time:square:

Whats the big deal sr20 is a sr20 right? So what what if the valve cover does'nt say Infinity. Just paint it red like a Det. yeah.

On a similiar note, but In my case I got the dealer. Well when I bought my 93.5' my dirt cheap my contract read "1994" G20 but my door read Nov 93. So I took it back telling them my contract is void showing them the door and how 94-96's have chrome handles and grill when mine doesn't. But I didn't tell him how 93.5's have all the cool interior upgrades like non-sliding seatbelts, dual airbags, backseat headrests, etc. plus I don't like the chrome anyways. Well, he gave me 500 cash and fixed the contract. Then I bought rims hahaha.

OK this is just entirely too childish.

1) There certainly were G20s that had Nissan on the valve cover

2) The engine serial numbers are independent of the car serial number

3) The responses to this post have been just about the most immature I've seen here.

4) 6'5, you really do need to try to put a little more effort to communicate into your posts and continue threads instead of creating new ones that are basically the same topic

5) Everyone else, stop piling on him and acting like assholes

6) This thread is shut down
