Does anyone know where i can get an axle half shaft bracket for the DET swap?? The shop says that the engine did not come with one and they cant use the one off the old engine...I dunno I am 50miles away and this is all they said on the phone. I left Jason at JGY a message so I am waiting for him too, but I can hook one really soon that would be awesome!!! Its the only obstacle!!
Thanks

Uhhh the bracket from your USDM motor will bolt perfectly to the DET. It's the same block casting so it has the receiving holes for the bolts. I swapped my JDM in and had to use the axle bracket from my USDM highport, it worked fine.

Then WTF is the shop talking about, could I have damaged it if I have a bent axle from a CV boot gone to long w/o being fixed???
CJ
Ps I am going to fix it soon

the block casting is different! DET doesnt have axel brackets because its 4 wheel drive. The DE axel moun bracket fits (except it will have one hole that floats in the air) Its ok. Mine and all other swaps are like this and no one complains

You sure the block casting is different? They are both 53J, says so right on the block. Of course the DET doesn't have the same axle bracket, but the axle bracket from the DE mounts just fine, which is that main point I was getting across.

Yes they are both 53j but the DET has braces on the bottom of the block near the oil pan for support that I needed to grind away in order to mount my crossmember.
The DET doesnt have an axel bracket at all as the tranny is completely different thusa not needing one. The axel mounts but if you were a mechanic trying to mount it, theres no way it would bolt up correctly because only two holes are there
