i was just wondering if there was any overseas members that would happen to have a diesel motor in their primera?

i am looking into doing a project, not on my G, but maybe on another if i can find a shell or a shell of a sentra or nx. very long story!

but i just have a few simple questions.

-what is the engine code for the diesel motor?
-what kind of engine management is there?
-what kind of motor bolts up to the same motor mounts? is this somthing i would be able to swap with a sr20, or a ga16?
-has anyone swaped there diesel for a gas sr20?

i have been in contact with SOKO engine importer and they told me they have a CD20 motor which they say will fit my needs. which appears to be out of a bluebird.

thanks for you time

youll have to mod the gas tank filler too to fit the diesel nozzle

i'll have to do a lot more them that!
a whole new fuel system would be going in,
a small fuel cell for diesel...

and this is mostly my fathers project so don't bash on me i'm just helping him ;)

but the goal is to convert the car to run on waste veggie oil. we have already done it to a 81 diesel rabbit, but rabbits are just too junkie to work with, and personally VW in general is a waste of time. and mercedes are too expensive. and thats about all there is for usdm diesel cars...

we are trying to do something different =P

there i tossed the log on the fire, flame on

well thats the story.

How's this...

Find a nice used 92-97 BMW 3 series (is that E36:confused: )

They've had a turbodiesel version in Yurrup that is a dandy, and I'm sure shipping a used motor here would be relatively easy since many TD 3-series were sold overseas.

Then fill'er up with used lard from the Golden Arches biodiesel station:cool:

Good luck..... either way, your idea is cool.

yea i also looked into E36's

but that also ventures out of our price range. the motor is no where near as cheap nor is the chassy :(

that would kick ass tho!

FYI, McD's dosen't produce much waste oil at all. they have mastered the art of keeping the grease in the food they sell, so in essence they are selling the grease to the customer with there food so they don't have to pay to get the stuff taken away...
kind of nasty when you think about it :-\

just figured some of you would like to know what you had for lunch today.. yum yum hehehehe

i really just want to get my hands on a nissan turbo diesel, crank the boost and add some propane! hehehehe go to the track running veggie oil and kicking ass... hahahahaha

Are you just converting to diesel, or attempting to make a diesel/electric hybrid that runs off of veggie oil?

I've been thinking about a diesel/electric hybrid, but am wanting to use a small 2 cylinder diesel generator for the plant. Running it off of veggie oil isn't something that had occured to me. That would be the coolest.

Cool idea, either way. What does your dad do that wants to do that? Mad Scientist (totally respect that, by the way)? Visionary? or just a guy wanting something different and not wanting to be dependant on foreign oil (closer to my way of thinking)?

haha, a diesel/ electric hybrid isn't what where going for now, but it has crossed our minds, that would be like 100+ MPG on free fuel. the distance covered on one tank of gas would be crazy!.
and no my dad isn't a mad scientist, he just thinks green. a diesel running on waste veggie oil produces little to no emmisions! its also free, and he's kind of cheep :) hehehe. but he has been into solar stuff for years and years, i guess the best way to put it is he's an old hippie str8 out of the 60's and 70's!

da_patriot,

kick ass i knew there was someone out there, i just was hoping it would be easy to find them :)

what do i need to know? as much as you can tell me.
you drive a 97 so thats a p11 correct?
whats the motor code for the diesel motor you have?
what is the motormount set up? can you put a sr20 into your car with your stock motor mounts?

i know with the vw diesels we have been working on there is NOTING in the way of engine managment so motor swaps are really easy! how about your primera?

i have quite a few questions, so i'm willing to bet any info you can give me will be of some help!

TIA

Rofl...:p

I like the idea just because its so different. There arent many cars with deisel engines. Besides, i love the way they sound.

P11: that's right.......
Motorcode: CD20T
motormounts: dunno, but should easily fit stock mounts
Specs: http://autogids.autotrader.nl/carbasedata.php?cache=no&vpos=1&add=1&id=13070&ref=atag

Unfortunately the specs are in Dutch, but I figured you could figure it out 4 yourself... :-)
