ok, I plan on putting in an aftermarket deck into a P10, it has RCA preouts, as I've heard the stock P10 decks do. So I'm wondering if anyone has ever run a system using the stock amps, powering them with preouts, not the normal speaker outputs? If the amps run at a similar voltage, it should work, and shouldn't be dangerous because it's not being double amped.

Stock amps and HU dont have rca's.
In theory that would work though. Because if you get an aftermarket HU and use the RCA's to go to the amps of the car, then yes that wouldn't be "double amp"ing the signal. But, you would have to find a way to go from the RCA's of the new HU to the stock amps.

Your best bet is eliminating your stock amps together. Reason why is because they're putting out around 13 watts RMS per speaker when ur aftermarket preamp will put out around 26 watts per speaker. Do not believe the 50x4 that it has labeled on the aftermarkets face. It can reach up to that but never will. But of course, thats if ur going to run aftermarket speakers. Either than that, if ur gonna run stock, then get the harness that is made for the premium system to ur G20.
