I have a multimeter that I'd like to use to adjust the RPM, but I have one problem. I can't figure out where to connect the meter to. Connect the meter to a ground source and then where do I connect the other test lead?

Well, I have no Idea about the reading you'll get, but the lead that will give you rpm signal is A: The coil wire -- small wire on bottom of coil-- B: Tach wire-- I couldn't find it, so I used A-- he he

you want to meausre tach using AC, and the wire is Blue w/black stripe either at the distributor, or at the computer, which is to the right of the gas pedal behind the plastic.

AC won't register the revs. You need a multimeter with frequency measurement....then divide by two as you'll get two pulses per rev.

You can get specialist automotive multimeters that have rpm readout. http://www.redhillsupply.com/more_info/UEIADM4201.htm
