Chirp when car shifts 1-2 or 2-3

Guys,
I need a little help. We've got a 2000 G20 w/ auto trans. It's now starting a chirp sound when it shifts from 1-2 or 2-3. Sounds to me like it's coming from the left side of the car, but I think it's outside the trans.... 94k on the car.

Anyone else had this happen or clues as to what's going on? I'm guessing it might be a motor mount, but not sure.

The tranny is on the left side of the car, that's why you hear it from that side.

I know you've stated you have a 2000, but this sounds just like your issue.

Just got a call from the mechanic. Needs a new exhaust manifold gasket. It was causing the chirp. I would have never guessed. But he said they were able to replicate it in the shop by putting the engine in drive and putting a little bit of a load on it. We get the car back tomorrow. So, we'll report our findings.

Wish I had time to fix it myself, but I have the next best thing - a trustworthy mechanic.
