View Full Version : Snapped Fucking Bolt Where Ground Goes!!!

FUCK ME...I was tightening it and it seemed as though it was going on fine and then SNAP...where else can I put that ground on! Where else can I put the ground??? and is it ok to let the throttle cable hang without being held????

Where did you snap the bolt?

And no, it's not ok to let the throttle cable hang without it's proper bracket.

The bolt I snapped is the one thats closest to the radiator on the left side right by the timing chain...I fixed it though..I stole a bolt from the black box where the distributor is (since it has 3) and put the bracket along with the ground and bolt on the threaded hole right beside the one I snapped..I wonder if that's there for emergencies in case something like this happens.

plus its only a simple ground, attaching it ANYWHERE on the chasis will work :)

Word. No big deal. I snapped off one of my grounding bolts on my intake manifold...there was a hole right next to it. New bolt and she was as good as new.

man i never snap bolts ;). me personally im a profectionast so i would drill and extract it. just cusae thats me and you guys would reem me out if i did not put a ground on your car in the right spot. but really if it was grounded to the engine then find another ground spot on the engine

Mike you must not work on Upstate NY cars very often, you'd snap just about every bolt you ever touched. ;)

i dont snap shit than knecks mofo lol. i have fiound erics car rcuiored me to snap on bolt in his old tranny to ge the job doneso i pretty much snaped the bolt on persose cuase it needed a good snaping. i did not do any snaping by mistake iu snaped that beouch cuase i new its desteny lol
