My number is 1.888.216.5328 or 480.424.3236.

Here's more information:

Purpose of the Infiniti of Scottsdale Program

This Performance Driving Program is designed as an introduction to performance driving for clients with street legal vehicles. It is an educational program for drivers to learn to drive their vehicles better on the street and at open track events. Competition, timing of vehicles or racing are not allowed. Education, safety, confidence, courtesy and enjoyment are the goals of the program. Driver instruction is provided at all levels of the program. It is held at Firebird International Raceway.

The initial Driver Orientation Class is required for all drivers. The new driver will receive over 2 hours of class instruction and over 2 hours of on-track instruction during the first day of this class. At completion of the class, the driver will receive a certificate and Performance Driving License. This license will be good for all INFINITI OF SCOTTSDALE Performance Driving Events.

Safety Equipment Required

Street vehicles must have the manufacturers standard seat belts and safety equipment. Drivers must wear a Snell rated (auto racing) or DOT (motorcycle) helmet less than 10 years old and in good condition. Cars must be safe with no fluid leaks, good tires, and have all loose items removed.

Convertible or roadster type cars must run with their top up unless there is either a factory installed bar or an aftermarket roll bar as part of the car.

The driver is responsible for the safety of his vehicle and the conduct of himself and anyone with him while at the track.

Passengers

Passengers are allowed after the Driver Orientation Class is completed by the Driver. The passengers must register for the event and have the same safety equipment as required by the driver. Minor’s may register as passengers with a parent in attendance and a Minor Waiver signed.

Groups

There are 4 Groups in the Program. After completion of
The Driver Orientation Class, you will be issued a Professional AutoSports Performance Driving License and run in the group of your choice.
1. X Red Group: Driver Orientation Class group. This is required for all new drivers to this program. This group is under the direct control of driving instructors and classroom instructors.

2. Red Group: Novice Performance Driving Program Group for drivers with little experience driving at speed on the track. Passing is only allowed on the straightaway sections of the track. Instructors are available to this group. Drivers in this group must have a Professional AutoSports Performance Driving License.

3. Orange Group: Intermediate Performance Driving Program Group for drivers with more experience. Passing is allowed on the straight-aways and in the corners when waved by. Instructors are available for this group. Drivers must have completed the Drivers in this group must have a Professional AutoSports Performance Driving License.

4. Green Group: Advanced Performance Driving Program Group for skilled drivers. Passing is allowed anywhere with courtesy. Instructors are available by request. Drivers in this group must have a Professional AutoSports Performance Driving License.

Insurance

In the Performance Driving Program and Driver Orientation Class for Street vehicles, the normal automobile insurance for the car will usually cover any incidents. This is a driver improvement program that is designed to improve your driving knowledge and skills. If you have questions on your insurance coverage, check with your insurance agent.

In addition, Professional AutoSports Inc. has General Commercial Liability, Personal Accident and AD&D for the on-track activities.

Track Safety

There are three groups that play a role in the safety program. First there are Course Officials that in most cases are approved for professional racing events. Their role is to be a communication tool to the drivers and to provide assistance to the Safety Crew if there is an accident. Secondly, the Safety Crew is made up of professional fire fighters many of whom have medical and rescue training. Thirdly, we have commercial ambulance service on site with trained PMT’s. The Safety Crew and the Ambulance service are normally provided by the track as part of our contract.

It'd be awesome if you could make it, unfortunately right now they're limiting it to only Infiniti vehicles. :( (G35 rental car? :))

I'm trying to get them to open up one run group for "other" cars (nissan guys, etc..) but right now that seems unlikely.

Also, for those of you that can't make this event, don't worry, this won't be our last one (I hope). As long as the turnout and feedback is positive, we'll continue these events.

Right now the plan is to hold four a year. They're saying one every 3 months, but they (people at my work putting this together) also haven't had the pleasure of standing on a shadeless skidpad in the middle of summer here either. I have a feeling we'll probably hold 3-4 events a year between approx October and May and skip the summer months all together.

No. We have G35 sedan loaner cars, but they won't rent them out for the track day. I'm actually having trouble getting the OK to attend myself, since I technically no longer own an Infiniti.

I know at least Hertz rents G35 sedans because they're a big wholesale customer of ours.

ok...I do believe the rental contract for Hertz specifically states that you will not use the car for 'sporting events' and such. That would violate the rental contract... Usually I wouldn't care, but if I get caught, Hertz may ban me from future rentals...and i use them frequently.

I dunno.....

Yeah, I heard rumors of this, this afternoon, but didn't think they were going to send an e-mail about it already. I 110% DO NOT agree with this and will be speaking to the General Manager about it on Monday (he's been in Japan for the last few days at a big Infiniti deal and is due back by then).

I'm really sorry you guys got that e-mail and I'm going to do everything I can to get you guys your deserved spot on the track. I think it's bullshit and will fight for you guys.

yo Justin,
Is there going to be a tech inspection? I have an SES light on because of my O2 sensor, is that going to matter. I also noticed my inner drive shaft boot has a hole in it, will that matter?

JustinP10
Jan 24, 08, 02:00 PM
There will be a slight inspection.

The check engine light doesn't matter, but if your boot is torn, I'd recommend getting that fixed before the track day. The cars can't have any leaks and everything needs to be secure (battery, etc...)

Chris
Jan 24, 08, 02:46 PM
I hope you guys have fun... maybe if I buy another Infiniti on Saturday while down there I'll wonder on over there on sunday.. lol.. although I won't have my comp license yet so they wouldn't let me run in green group apparently (I guess HPDE 4 yellow pass book won't due either huh?).. lol

Everyone has to start out as a NOOB and attend the class, etc... regardless of prior track experience.

That's not by my choice or recommendation, FWIW.

yeah.. might just wait until they iron out stuff and have a 2nd or 3rd day..

we just have such limited time and are going to be very busy at pick n pulls with a big list of stuff to get.. lol

hopefully all goes so well that they get a little less silly with their rules for next time... I mean, I can totally understand a 'check ride' or proof of experience but sheesh.. I've held classroom for other clubs and am an instructor.. lol
