Woot Woot for the mighty dane Tom Kristensen winning Le Mans for the 8th time setting a new record with most wins. 3 days "old" news already, but still worth mentioning given the greatness of it - beating the favorites from Peugeot in the somewhat outdated Audi :cruisin:

The rain was the great equalizer! Audi always had the speed in the rain, but never the dry pace to match the French Lions.
Although Peugeot's gamble at the last hour on tire choices was baffling.

Baffling? I will said stupid. Instead of following the same choice of tires audi did, they tried to do some extreme gains, but the bet didn't pay off. I couldn't believe when they went out with the slick tires on the condition the track had at that moment.
Anyway, a great finish for the race, happy for TK. Let's hope Peugeot don't pull the plug yet, so we have another trilling race next year.
Oh, and more than the rain, the great equalizer was the pits stops. Audi was 8 minutes faster than peugeot on the same ammount of pit stops. Way to go!!!

The problem was that the back half of the track was wet... oy!
But it was obvious that experience pays off at Le Mans...
TK is the greatest ever! And he's one of the most humble guys! Too bad he's not racing in the ALMS this year, I had a chance to shake his hand a few years ago at Laguna Seca when he was running in the R8, and he's really a class act all around.

Halfway through the race, Audi actually had about 4 less pit stops than Peugeot, and the two cars were even on the lead lap. The only thing that kept Audi in the race in the beginning was the fewer amount of pit stops they had to do.
