Hola! Hey I have been a member for a over a week and decided I'd say what's up. This forum is pretty kick A$$, the mods and guru's seem eager to help and don't seem too interested in flaming people all the time (that makes it a lot easier to learn things). I just picked up my 94 G20 today it's pretty clean and I'm liking it. Black with tan leather interior and cream color inserts. Ahh this ones gonna be nice when I'm done with it. Anyways I'll be swapping out the engine soon for a DET and going with JGY IC kit. I'm hella stoked! Oh yeah the car was a steal, pretty clean, clean title ect... $500.00 It only has a blown head gasket and a radiator with a hole in it which is awesome because I only bought it to swap the engine. :naughty:
One quick question, with the swap: tear out the old engine throw in the new, bolt up to the tranny, wire in the DET wiring harness, Plug in the DET - ECU, route and install the IC and it's go time? Or are there any pointers I need?

Here's a couple pics just after getting it.

P.S. I'd have to agree with w/ the person who wrote: I came to this site to research the G20 even though I didn't own one, if I had come here and all the research material and how to's were not available as a N/M I would have just left; now I own a G20 and will be sponsoring.
I feel the same way, I also liked his idea about a week to view the How-to's before having to subscribe so cast my vote in on that one. A teaser of any other kind just won’t work, sry guys. I also will be donating in the near future and upgrading.

Thanx guys at G20, again you kick a$$. Pics----------------->

Welcome to the addiction.

Your car is identical to mine in every which way, mine started out as a $200 project car...

you will prbably need a clutch soon after the swap. personally i would get a upgraded clutch and just change it while everything is out of the car, much easier that way.

Good luck! Definitely upgrade your clutch while doing the swap, unless you want to take the tranny off again in a few months.

welcome . since you are doing the swp I would like to recomend not changeing any factorry wireing. insted i would recomend use your stock harnnes and send your ecu to calum for a real time upgrade. then get to a dyno shop for a good tune.

also not to mny people would say this but. It my be a good idea to leave the harnees on the existing engine and pull the ecu plugs threw the fire wall when removeign the engine.
reason for that being is alot neeter harness routing from engine to engine,
disconect and leave all body harrness in the car.

Thnx guys, I will be changing out the clutch while I have the engine and tranny apart. I was planing on using this clutch: IRONMAN/STRIP Series Clutch Kit, Comp. Clutch, From Nopi: $428.00. Have any of you heard anything good or bad or have any personal insight into this clutch. I
I'm also going to pick up some of the M/Mounts from G20.net and tossing those on there before droping the DET in.
Thnx p10DET for the helpfull info on the harness.
