First rule for 2009: Bernie Eccelstone is a fucking tard.

Second rule: Buy an SS officer suit and a prostitute.

Third Rule: Ferrari always wins, even if the race has to be thrown.

Personally I find all new changes a bit restrictive. F1 is more and more becoming a race like Nascar but the round circuit..
Since I have followed last few seasons closely, somehow lost the huge interest I had. Even visited Istanbul, Turkey Gran Prix. For sure I will follow the upcoming season as well but I can't wait to see Alonso in Ferarri :)

Nice video tho :)

KERS, new regs and the new points system if ratified could make this a disasterous
year for F1. 8-10 car finishes could be on the horizon. I sure hope not!

As entertaining and stable as the series was the last two seasons they should have left well enough alone...

We'll see..... I'll be tuning in for practice, quali and race.

This is F1 don't believe anything you read or hear until the green flag drops...err the lights go out.

They are suppossed to publish the package weights before the race which should help flush out who is running it or not. Pit crew members wriggling and rolling around in pain is another obvious giveaway!

The governing body is "trying" to make it so Ferrari doesn't win as much and for the races to be more about driver's skill than technology. That's part of the reason they did away with grooved tires for slicks.

End result? Ferrari wins, and a lot more crashes.

BRAWN!!!!! Holy Shit!!!!! Congrats to them. That was a very impressive 1, 2 finish. This year is gonna be wild. Jenson and Rubens have deserved this for years. Honduhh must be shiiting their pants.

Gee, I wonder who put Ferrari in their current position of power: Ross Brawn.

Why did Schumacher will so many world championships: Ross Brawn.

Is it really that big of a stretch to think that he couldn't do the same thing with Honda's old them in a year where the entire rulebook was rewritten? I don't think so...

Unless reliability becomes a problem...or his rear diffuser gets outlawed...get used to seeing those ugly yellow wheel covers at the front of the pack.

Yeah...quite impatient he was...use the Force he did not.

Vettel's tires were going away, all Kubica had to do was pressure him through a few more corners...but he just got a little impatient.

G20-Budo
Apr 27, 09, 12:06 PM
Ok, so I was wrong.. the supersoft tires weren't the issue (in 100 degree weather and 122 degree track temp)... it was the medium compound.

The race was an interesting one, and it's good to see other teams winning now. Also, with little to no testing for the teams, it seems to have leveled the field a bit (considering all the changes). Though Ferrari and McClaren did both improve their positions in this race.

Also the running of the every other tire compound has caused more strategy to show up in the races. :)

Looking forward to the next race! =)

More like Ferrari doesn't give a rat's ass about him...so I think the problem is mutual. Somehow within a year of winning his championship, he got demoted to being the #2 driver on the team...that's got to sap your motivation to perform for the team.

^ Yea, Ol' Phil Massa is lucky to be counted amonst the living today!
That is some incredible footage of that spring coming at him.

Brawn should have a large fine levied against them - Bush league antics on par with
Ferrari driving off out of the pits last year with their fuel rig attached.

I would have to agree that this is one of the most exciting (odd) seasons in recent memory although we have to remember that the drivers championship was decided by just one point the last two years.

Enjoy Hungary today!

I've been very busy with work, school and a vacation but did watch the quai for Hungary.. And that spring popping off was crazy! I'm glad Massa is ok.

As for the season, I have to admit its been a crazy one so far.. It's all been about aero packages and controlling the air going under the car.. McClaren is finally figuring it out and starting to come on strong. Though I did hear that there will be rules changes AGAIN next year.. and this lack of testing is kind of BS, it causes all the testing to be done at the track on Fridays.. well I guess it's good and bad.. it kind of levels the playing field and the guys with the big $$ don't win all the time.. so I guess it's a give and take.

I'm looking forward to the race today!

Monza wake up call and thread resuscitatation!

No posts for the last two races as the championship heats up and Giancarlo Fisichella
scores Force India's first points in grand fashion.
I hope he does well in his new seat at Ferrari

Ferrari, McLaren and Renault with their KERS should have an advantage at the fastest track on the calendar.

Ferrari takes Santander sponsorship from McLaren for 2010 - Does this mean an impending move to the Scuderia for Alonso?

New kids on the block Jaime Alguersuari and Romain Grosjean alternately looking good and like rookies

And Nelson Piquet Jr. throwing large amounts of shit into the FIA Fan over "crashgate"
(I think I just named it?) what a huge con-trov-er-see

Wow, A lot has gone down since we all last piped in!

Up early to watch Friday practice - Hey easy with the Lesmos!

As Button's lead shrinks it is very tough to predict a champion. This has been such an interesting season. There have been something like six different winners and now there are quite a few guys who actually have a shot at button. IMHO Ferrari will win at Monza. Maybe even Fisi but Kimi has been kicking much ass as of late. He is just too far down to contend which is a bummer. I hope Webber wins it all but it is a longshot. If Rubens wins it I will be happy for him. That's probably the only way he keeps his seat at Brawn. As far as Renault, I always thought there was something fishy going on when Alonso won those races last year. He is bad ass but those cars were not and are not fast. Oh yeah, Force India is fucking amazing!!!

G20-Budo
Sep 13, 09, 07:41 PM

I feel Kimi is finally being vindicated for the early woes that Ferrari brought on him this season. Since Massa's injury...he has stepped his game right up where it should be. I don't really think he was slacking before - I truly think Ferrari was using his car to develop a lot of the stuff now on the F60. Some of it worked...some not. But it really handicapped Kimi's chances at success.

In or out at the end of the season...at least he has shown he can still race well. I hope Massa is back next season at his previous level. I hope Alonso is prepared to be treated as a #2 driver...regardless of his two championships.

Who knows how the silly season will all end...

And DAMN...controversy just seems to follow Alonso like the plague. If Ferrari wants him...they'd better be prepared.

Huge news out today in the F1 world:

"The ING Renault F1 Team will not dispute the recent allegations made by the FIA concerning the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix. It also wishes to state that its managing director, Flavio Briatore and its executive director of engineering, Pat Symonds, have left the team"... WOW Guilty as charged it would appear!!!

Also it appears BMW has found a buyer for the team

AND... the venerated Lotus marque will reappear next year

Renault Banned for 2 Seasons

Briatore banned from any FIA event indefinitely

Symonds 5 Year ban from any FIA event

Piquent No Charges for giving up all evidence

Alonso was not involved

Huge news in F1, but what happens to the race results? Does Alonso still retain the win? or does Rosberg get his first F1 Win?

"Disqualified" - FIA release is not very clear but I take this to mean they can participate but can not win a Championship
This would be similar to how they handled McLaren's "Stepneygate" episode

Alonso was not involved
Yea, right - fuel loads alone prove he is as guilty as FB but too valuable to the commercial interest of the (sport?) to properly prosecute

Yah based on the release it sounds like they can compete. I really doubt Alonso wasn't in some way involved. Look at all the F1 drama that continues to follow him from team to team. This can't be a coincidence. I like Alonso's driving, but there is just something not right about him.

Singapore was a great scene...
The cars look so awesome under the lights, visible blue exhaust, laser beams etc. not visible during the day

But - It sucks that a track dictated the pace, events and results of practie, quali and the race itself due it's poorly designed layout, lack of proper craning equipment, escape areas

just watched it last night and booooriiing...i mean qualifing was more interesting and if it wasnt for the night scene it would be a huge fail in my book. Track is too tiny for F1 driving.

I dont know if anyone here intersted in FIA WRC racing but on the HD theatre channel starting october 4th they're gonna start broadcasting coverage, not sure if theyre gonna start from the begining of the season or from Spain since there is only 2 rallys left but im super excited.

FIA WRC racing but on the HD theatre channel starting october 4th

Hard for this F1 diehard to admit but this WRC is probably the best "pure" racing series on the planet -
except the for the fact that the FIA is involved!
Good to know... searching

Well, I (one of the few I guess) enjoyed the race. The cars under the lights and the back drop of the city was GREAT! I do think they should have stopped the construction crews near the track through for the race..

The lack of cranes and the bumpy as all get out surface were negatives for sure.. but still I enjoyed the race.

I'm not a huge WRC person.. and if the FIA is involved I'm sure it will get messed up too.

For what it's worth though.. I think F1 has had some great battles over the last 2.5 years now..

Dilong,

Thanks for the info!! :)

Though this is what we've all known for sometime now, it's good to FINALLY see it in writing.

I just really wonder how well Alonso will play with Massa? Alonso has shown that if he's not considered the #1 driver, he kinda does dirty stuff.. so we'll see how he does?

If the Ferrari is competitive, I expect Alonso will be up front though... he is a kick ass driver..there is no denying that.

I don't like Alonso even though he is a great driver. I just think he is kind of an a-hole. Too arrogant.

I didn't like him when I first started really getting into F1 (when he was with Mclaren). He did seem like an asshole. After going through previous seasons, I started liking the guy. He brings a lot to the sport. He's a great driver with character. He's one of the few drivers that have a certain driving style that separates them from the rest.

Raikkonen, on the other hand, is the most arrogant, bland, dipshit asshole in F1. I'm glad Alonso is taking his spot.

Well, F1 is over for another year. I will get my urge back soon but it pisses me off that they don't race the way they did in Brazil every fucking race. The problem is the teams not the cars. If they would have more aggressive race strategies it would be so much more fun to watch.

congrats to Button for the season and kudos for pushing all the way to the finish line at abu dhabi for no real reason. Next year is gona be interesting, the cars are gonna get slower and did i hear right - the KERS system is not available next year???

G20-Budo
Nov 02, 09, 05:10 PM
I actually enjoyed this year or F1 racing. There was just that, alot of racing, both in the pits and on the track.

Now that KERS is going away, we will have to see how things turn out next year. McClaren was pretty fast towards the end of the season, but alot of that had to do with KERS as well. Without it (and the removal of re-fueling, along with bigger fuel tanks), things should be pretty interesting. Also with USF1 and the other new teams.. I'm already looking forward to next year! :)
