Well i did my first HPDE on monday at VIR, and all i can say is it was freakin awsome (this my become an addiction if i'm not careful lol). I was very lucky and got paired up with the senior instructor who was nothing less then insane ,so we clicked perfectly lol and lets say i found the limits of the G's current setup rather quickly.

Heres a few little tid bits i learned
-the stock g20 brakes suck at such a high speed track like vir, I boiled them in the first 30 minuute session. I was running axxis metal masters, and valvoline synthetic dot 4 brake fluid.

-Don't bring allseasons(even sticky ones) because they are going to screach, whine ,cry and get destroyed lol (i'm missing a few chucks of side wall :teeth:)

-The G needs more POWER, by the end of the day i was gettting down the track pretty darn good hitting about 120 down the back straight and around 110 down the front but the lack of lowend power was a killer.

-My balls are no where as big as i thought lol When your coming down the back straight at 120 and you see a sharp downhill left hander and your instructor is saying hold it ,hold it, hold i,t hold it some more and then braking right at the 100 foot mark yea......

other then this the g did great i didn't relize how well the g really could handle before yesterday and my g is nothing special poly bushings ,all seirvice items replaced ,and a bigger rear bar I was able to get a few passes in on some high money cars(m3 and vette lol) but that was mostly due to me and my instructor being agressive and using everything the car would give.

For those of you who have never seen vir

Welcome the the addiction! More area always welcome!!!

We use Hawk DTC60 on our p10 front (with the p11 brake upgrade so bigger rotors and slightly different pads with the p11 front carriers -- same caliper)

...We found the stock p10 brakes horrid even with Hawk Blue race pads at Blackhawk Farms here in the midwest (well known to be the hardest on brakes, probably the hardest in the country on brakes) but the p11 DTC60 combo holds up okay

Part of the game we play with the p10 is learning to brake less and keep the momentum going (this started out of necessity with brakes fading to fast and it taught us just how 'sticky' the car can be and how fast you really can take the corners ;) )

That is so true I found I was becoming alot quicker threw out the day as i learned to keep the momentum up and the revs above 5k. Pretty much ended up being in 3rd and 4th gear the entire track, as far as braking my solution was get on the brakes as hard and late as i could for the minumul amout of time lol

Turn 1 called the horseshoe was the hardes on the brakes because i could carry so much speed from turn 16 and the straight.

But turn 11 and 11a are by far the hardist on the entire course this is called oak tree turn its the signature turn at vir. Heres a pic any one what to guess why they call it that lol
