I just ran some refrigerant through with the dye and found that the leak is coming from the low pressure line. Another thing that i think confirmed the leak was a small hissing noise after i had turned the car off and emptied the refrigerant, like it was leaking whatever air was left in the lines, near where i saw the uv dye. The next part I am stuck on. Does anyone know how to change the low pressure line, and where i can find that parts. btw i have a 1996 g20.

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a dilemma.

MY wife's G20 is having some problems starting.
I've checked the battery and the terminal that leads to the positive side was all hammered and beat up.
Changed it and put everything back together. Works fine.
Battery was purchased 9/12 so I believe its still good.

Lately the car doesn't want to turn on.
Power goes out. Windows, antenna all go up and down and there's power to the stereo.
The starter clicks once at the turn of the key

Her dad told her to move the from park to drive while the car is off then back to park and turn it on.
It works from time to time.

From what i've notice it happens every now and then when its hot outside.

I've been told it could be many things from the starter, alt, battery, throttle position sensor, distriburator cap and some sensor in it.
I'm kinda tired of second guessing so now i'm turning to the G20 Guru's on here to help me out with this.

thanks in advance

Hello ya'll, and thanks for all the good info on this site.
I'm pretty handy with turning a wrench, but this info and guidance I've found here is gold!!

My problem - was driving my G ('01 G20t 5spd) last week when my AC/Alternator belt broke. Was forced to drive the car home (approx 40 miles on the highway)... car didn't run hot until approx 35 miles into the drive; turned heater on, drove till that was no longer effective; pulled off, let cool. Made it home. Replacing belt was a cinch, but I'm leaking coolant, and it looks like there's a crack (approx 4-6 inches) across the plastic top of the radiator (backside, below coolant cap).

I found this radiator off another post (looks like they're out of stock:baffled:... ):
http://www.genesisautoparts.com/prod...371X7110aa.htm

This one looks like a "direct fit":
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...%26+Drivetrain

(Autozone has it for approx $155...)

Question - are there known issues with P11 cooling systems I should be on the look out for? Is there an oil cooler built into the rad?
Anything else I should do while I'm swapping out the rad? (thermostat, temp sensor, etc?)

Any pointers/tips would be greatly appreciated.

So I've been dealing with electrical gremlins on my 1995 G20 since I got it in January. Most recently, I've noticed that the temp gauge is acting weird and the fans do not turn on. When I got the car, the cluster was fried, so I replaced the gauges and the tape with 1994 cluster/tape.

The temp gauge reads temperature at ambient, with just the key on and the car cold, maybe a needle width above cold. It shows the high end of hot within about 5 mins of idling. I have attempted to burp the car by starting it, running it until warm without the rad cap, then parking it on a hill, nose side up and letting it take coolant from the overflow bottle. I will probably need to reburp it, but on to the rest of the story. I'll get my burp funnel and try that tomorrow.

My bigger concern is that the fans do not come on during normal operation. I can jump them on with my power probe, but unplugging the ECU temp sensor does nothing but make the car idle high. Swapping around relays to ones I know are good does not work. I have traced and checked continuity for all wires according to the FSM and all is good. I checked to see that the 94 and 95 models have the same resistance in the temp sensor for the gauge and they do. I replaced the thermostat last night and the gauge temp sensor yesterday afternoon. However, the fans still do not come on! I know the engine is hot as I can feel the thermostat open and heat up the lower hose. My AC is currently without charge, so I can't trigger the fans by turning on the AC.

What are my options here? I'm beyond frustrated and have been working on this for more than 5 days now! Is there anything else that could trigger or hinder the fans operation?

Hi all,

It looks like my left freeze plugs are oozing a decent amount of oil at the moment. I recently had my lower oil pan replaced, which was a used OEM pan. I have a 99t with a man. date of 6/98, and I know Infiniti changed the design after the 6/98 models rolled out. I used Grey Stuff to seal it to the upper pan. I also replaced my valve cover gasket, which was leaking ferociously. My guess is I have excessive oil pressure in my system since my plugs started leaking immediately after these repairs were performed.

Do you guys think replacing the freeze plugs will fix the issue, or is there anything I can do to alleviate some of the pressure so I don't end up with a cracked head?

Thanks
