    BeZerK2112's P10

Here is my project P10. Excited about it and leaving a trail of my work.

    1993 G20 with 164K on the clock.

It needs a SERIOUS clean up. This car reeks of teenage girl that could care less about her car. Daddy on the other hand has kept every service record since he purchased it for said girl. Lets just say that mechanically its sound. =D

Pulls nice and strong. Needs some TLC just about everywhere but it was a great deal. Blue exterior with black and cream interior. LOVE the interior color.

Worked on the car this weekend. The other night I was on the way home on the high way and all the sudden I hear a fwamp fwamp fwamp. Pull over and found that my brand new tire had suddenly lost air. Well it was dark so I changed the tire and went along my way. Yesterday morning I inspected the tire to find this.

I was kind of pissed to see that it was completely destroyed. The ride on these tires was rough and annoying. I didnt like the fact that they were 205/40/17. very dangerous if you ask me. So searched all over the internet and finally found these!

They are brand new. The owner got a new Cube and put new rims on after 1k miles. The whole setup cost me $250. Not bad for new tires and rims.

Only one problem, the tires are a little big. They just kiss the rear strut tower. I need to get a set of wheel spacers before I can put the rears on. Other then that, I like the result! The larger tire size makes a lot of the wheel gap disappear!

Yesterday I also took a really close look at the alternator. I've been getting the whole ABS, Battery, and brake thing. First off, the moron who installed the alternator put the tensioning nut on backwards so the end of the bolt was in the belt.... Fixed. Upon even more examination I noticed the plug going to the alternator was missing its clip. The thing practically slid out with me touching it. To my amazement I found this!

Further proving himself a moron, the person who did the alternator repair last year broke the plug. Now I need a new one. Call the dealership and they wanted $91 for the end. So 10 bucks later from the junk yard I installed a new (to me) end! Heres the install:

I also installed a new power steering high pressure line. Lets see if that fixes my leak.

Couple of other odds and ends from the few weeks I've had the car. Replaced 2 window motors. They all go up and down now! I'm going to take off the tint all around too, you cant see through it.

I got speakers for the front to replace the blown crapy ones. More pics on that to come.

Looks like she is coming along nicely.
I kind of like the look of those cube wheels. It's something I've never seen on a P10 before.

Keep up the good work, you'll have her whipped into shape in no time.

Next time replace the whole alternator sub harness, instead of splicing. It plugs in by the ABS module, most people don't know it just unplugs from the rest of the engine bay harness there.

    Yes it does.

This week I plan to get my new fender all ready for install. The passenger side front fender is all jacked up. I got a new one at a Pick A Part. Few other odds and ends to get the engine running perfect, and then I'm going to restore the interior.

I need to pick up the wheel spacers. I'm trying to get with Blackwater to pick up his. Then I will install them, do a full detail, and take the car for a photo shoot. I'm really excited about it.

I've been taking care of little details with the car during my lunch brake at work. I've installed new wiper stick, turn signal stick, and little trim pieces that were missing like the back seatbelt holders. I talked to my wife and we are going to redo the headliner and pillars in charcoal black (dark gray like the dash). I think it will give the interior a more sporty feel and better look.

I'm going out of town this Sunday and wont be able to work on the car but when I come back I'm replacing the AC condenser and install my new fender. Then, all extra parts I have will be up for sale.

Got a little aggressive with the steering column this afternoon.

The horn and cruise control didn't work. I checked everything and found it to be these little guys.

There was so much gunk on them. In addition they had corroded over time. As you can see the one on the right still had some crap on it. I had to clean it off the springs as well.

After everything was clean, I checked the contacts and reassembled.

For not knowing what was going on I am surprised I was able to figure it out. Quite a simple system. Horn and speed control now work!

I think I may need to get some Infiniti center caps to finish pulling the thing off. I believe they are all the same size. Can anyone verify this before I blow the money?
