    Question about coilovers

So there's a guy selling these coilovers. Well I'll quote his post. Tell me what you guys think. What I should be looking for when inspecting them. My friend told me not to buy anything made before 2005. I was thinking of offering $300 for everything. Also he was trying to sell them for $675 before but lowered it to 395.

    And his post goes:

"I have for sale a set of used Tein Coilovers from a 02 Infiniti G20, they roughly have around 20k miles on them and are still in good condition. Nothing is blown or bent. If the buyer is interested I can include for another $45 Tein EDFC damper motors otherwise I would sell the motors alone for $130"

no pics? even if they are blown, you can get them refurbed. they have a facility in LA:

the Tein SS coils retail for around $1,000, and the EDFC for around $400.

These are the only pics I have.
And you know how much it would cost to get them refurbished?

so they were on his car for less than 2 years maybe. Seems like a good deal, but then again, is he the only owner. Worst case, 20k on his car and then 20k on someone elses lol

just an fyi. there was a guy on CL selling a set in your vecinity and another member paid him for them and shipping and he never sent them out. he was selling coils and EDFC. just be careful. best bet is to look at them in person.

Also, you'll need a controller for the EDFC, if you don't already have one.

I say do it. My tein SS coilovers were 645 picked up in good condition.
I live in LA and took them to tein in Downey and they did a free inspection and said they were good. Even gave me a set of new bumpstops free.
to rebuild is expensive, all 4 rebuilt is like 600 bucks. And that's picked up no shipping.

Yeah the guy lives like 30 min away so I would look at them first before buying. I don't really know anything about coilovers that's why I was asking what I should be looking for. I'll probably bring a friend with me that knows some about coilovers.

So the guy said he'll sell coilovers with the motors for 360. But he doesn't have the controller. How hard and important is it to get a controller? Should I get it all for 360 if everything checks out?

in my limited understanding of coilovers/EDFC, but if you want to save a couple more bucks, i dont know if it you'd need those motors? as in run them as normal coilovers without the fancy electronics. but thats speaking from a strictly economical standpoint lol.

plus i feel like it read somewhere that the wholde EDFC was hard to mount in our cars, like there wasnt room or something? i'm suer you can get creative though lol. like i said i dont know for sure, but if your looking to save a few more dollars...

Man u don't need no edfc. U just pop ur trunk or hood and adjust them like that. U probly wont wanna wire them all over the car and ect. U will find mounting location and drilling holes to be the shitty parts with the edfc.
just buy the coilovers hand call it a day

    edfc is for awesome points.

why do any of us buy half the stuff we do.

get them, rebuild them, find the motor, and have a sick setup.
