I don't know anything about those kind of races but I do know the V8 they use in the GTR is one nice engine.
How do you know if LSD or not? Like you would check any tranny. Get down there and look for a bulge.

The V8 Touring Cars is actually called V8 Supercars.
It a round of races in Aust and NZ that feature two manufacturer, Holden and Ford, all running v8s. This is what Nissan is looking to enter.

    Here is the item;

"Nissan to join V8 Supercars in 2013

The days of Holden and Ford locking horns for bragging rights in V8 supercar racing are numbered with the category to announce today that Nissan will join the battle from next year.

The Japanese brand will team up with the four-car Kelly Racing outfit that currently races Holden Commodores, but without any factory support from Holden.

Nissan will be the first manufacturer to break the duopoly held by Holden and Ford since the sport adopted a strict requirement in 1993 for V8-powered, rear-wheel-driven cars designed to suit the Commodore and its Ford large-car equivalent, the Falcon.

There is irony in the fact that Nissan will be the first manufacturer to break the local stranglehold as it is the very manufacturer that the category sought to exclude when it drew up new regulations in 1993 to end the dominance of the four-wheel-drive, turbocharged Nissan GT-R.

It’s believed that Kelly Racing chairman John Crennan – the man who masterminded the Holden Racing Team’s phenomenal success streak in the late 1990s and early 2000s – brokered the deal after speaking with several manufacturers.

Nissan and Chrysler have been linked to V8 Supercars since the category’s chairman Tony Cochrane announced last year he would welcome a third brand to the series.
The American Chrysler brand has been linked to Garry Rogers Motorsport, another Holden team.

However, Crennan told Auto Action magazine last August that Kelly Racing wanted to stay loyal to Holden and outlined a plan for his squad to replace the Holden Racing Team as Holden’s factory-backed squad.

“There seems to be an enormous amount of keenness on behalf of V8 Supercars and certain powerbrokers pushing the barrow that we should be getting involved with another manufacturer, because we have superb facilities and no manufacturer deal,” he said at the time.

“I’m tired of these people putting out this line – it would disturb our goal of replacing HRT as the main Holden team at the end of their contract [at the end of the 2012 season].”

A question mark remains over what car Nissan will use for its V8 Supercar entry.
It has outlined plans to replace its Maxima – a car that straddles the medium and large passenger car categories – with the similarly sized Altima in 2013.

Although the Altima is not currently available with a V8 engine, it is thought to be the frontrunner for Nissan’s Kelly Racing entry."

It would be nice to have more different manufactures, cause it so boring watching the same cars all the time.

About time. Nice series, tough duels, but also boring with only 2 car manufacturers battling.

    Here is the latest on the subject;

"2013 Nissan Altima V8 Supercars Racer Debuts

MELBOURNE, Australia — Nissan, the first manufacturer to horn in
on the Holden-Ford stranglehold on the V8 Supercars Series since 1992,
unveiled a Kelly Racing-prepared Altima on Tuesday.
The 2013 Nissan V8 Supercars racer is getting prepped for entry in
Australia's V8 Supercars Championship next season.

The Japanese marque, which competed in the predecessor Australian
Touring Car Series in the 1980s and early 1990s with models such as
the Bluebird Turbo and Skyline DR30 RS, ranks 3rd in manufacturer
    round victories with 25.

Revised rules for 1993 excluded the Skyline from the top category of
Australian touring car competition and reserved that series for
Australian-built, V8-powered cars, which effectively restricted the
series to Ford and General Motors' Australian brand Holden.

Nissan re-enters the series, rebranded as V8 Supercars in 1993,
as a new Car of the Future is scheduled to debut next season.
Mercedes-Benz will also compete next year.

Kelly Racing, which switches from Holden, will field a four-car entry
next year under the works brand of Nissan Motorsport.

"This is the proudest day in the relatively short history of our team, as
well as one of the most significant days in recent times for the sport
of V8 Supercars," said team racing director Todd Kelly, who
won the series' "Great Race," the Bathurst 1000 in New South Wales,
in 2005 with co-driver Mark Skaife.

Kelly said the team designed and built the car in roughly nine months.
Testing of the vehicle will commence after the car is homologated
according to Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile regulations.

The Supercars have become a hot commodity in the Australasia
region and have expanded to New Zealand, China, Bahrain and the
United Arab Emirates. This year, the series' official title is
International V8 Supercars, replacing the Australian V8 Supercars
    moniker.

Three races remain on the 2012 calendar, including this weekend's
Yas V8 400 at Yas Marina Circuit, a companion event to the
Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Next year, the series will race for
the first time in America at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Edmunds says: A new era dawns for Supercars, as
American-headquartered manufacturers Ford and GM will be getting
new challengers. Kelly abandons the Holden ranks and Stone
Brothers Racing will leave Ford for an alignment with Mercedes."

I've got a picture of the new car somewhere, I'll dig it out later for you.
