    Our 2012 VW GLI

So we are a 2-vw Family now.

The 0 down and 0% financing was too good a deal to pass up! Now we have 'his' and 'hers' 2012 VWs (haha)

I dunno.. the MKIV is starting to look dated to me (my mom still has her 2002 TDI Jetta).. and when I see a 2004 R32 now, it just seems like it is getting dated now.

I am liking this new styling and the bluetooth phone feature with touch screen and steering wheel controls gets you spoiled pretty quickly!

Steering wheel stereo controls are pretty nice too obviously! ..and the dash showing you what Sirius station you are on and what is playing is pretty nice as well! <-- all stuff that was not yet available on the MKIV platform ...and seemingly came over from Audi (which we were spoiled by on the 2004 A4 Ultrasport btw)

i agree that they are becoming dated, but i still have a soft spot for them. lol whenever i see an r32 i get excited, no matter how old!

i am starting to like mk5s now though. i liked the blockier styling of the mk4 generation but the newer ones are really growing on me

and to your other point, my buddy has an mk5 gti... wow! the interior is really nice. vw really stepped their game on on that front

nice. I do wish, however, that they kept the GLI as sporty as the older models. Mesh BBS, Recaro's and a sportier aero kit.

We kinda like the subtle wing on the trunk actually (go figure)... but wheels are easy to change

    Already did some mods (haha)

VAGCOM mods done as follows within an hour of having it home:

    - DRL disable
    - Remote windows down/up feature (press and hold lock or unlock to open or close the windows)
    - seat belt chime disable
    - auto door lock disable

And then today we removed the soundaktor

    ...window tint appointment already made!

...eventually wheels will get changed too...

^ not 19 any more and more interested in a nice non-bouncy daily driver and leave the track cars to the stiffer and lower suspension.. Plus keeping warranty is a priority (tint won't void a warranty-- haha)

    so no thanks
