Newbies get all the flack because a lot of the time they ask questions that have been answered a million times or so.

Doing a bit of research, and looking at the FAQ sections will answer a majority of the basic questions out there.

We are all about building a community here and everyone has to do their part. This includes newbies, by searching for the answer. Sometimes the info is hidden there or may be on another forum like www.sr20deforum.com

Not all posts are usless, and if the info cant be found then by all means post the question, but if it has been answered before multiple times, be prepared to get flamed, that is just the nature of forums...and dont take it personally as an attack on the newbies...its just a learning curve...we were all there once.

I tend to agree with fastbaggedG20 on this one. Obviously things like "What modz can make my car faster" etc etc can get old after a while but a lot of times people ask stuff that really isnt that common and just because there is one or two threads on it people assume those threads have all the infomation anyone could ever want on that topic. Usually that's not the case. When I'm looking for info on something usually the more threads I can find the better because they almost always have some new little tidbit of info.

Also there the fact that the vast majority of search results for any given topic have a bunch of threads telling the poor newbie to go search. If we spent 1/2 the time actually writing answers to some of these questions that we doing yelling at noobs I think the forum would benefit greatly.

Just to let you in on the side of those who have been here for a long time, everyday new people sign up. And alot of them all come with the same exact questions. Some newbies search the site and find all the answers to what they are looking for. Others dont bother and just ask. Others search and when they cant find what they are looking for, then they ask. Those questions then flood the site and frustrate those who see the same questions frequently. Personally I always try to answer the question, then after I answer, suggest the person search the next time, but others do not. Just take it for what it is, good advice. If you have a question, search. If you cant find it, ask away... The longer you stay around this site, you'll begin to understand...

so does anyone know if I have to wire the neutral switch right to the computer? or is it built into the automatic harness somewhere? If no one knows its going to be reading time and sit back with the FSM and pore thru diagram after diagram and see if i can dig it up..

Amen, and PLEASE, don't post questions unless you have thoroughly read SE-R.net. It's an old site, but it is an excellent resource.

    Bluebullet,
Have you already plugged in the K Flux Capacitor?
    just kidding
I have no clue i just wanted to say that
anyways, i dont think we actually get that many repetitive questions. I have been on other forums where the same exact question gets asked ALL the time. I think we have an awesome forum going but sometimes we do flame a lil hard on n00bs

    Red face Well...

A lil' bit of both... like Dsigns and Jbloggs-c mentioioned...
I was a newbie myself... and damnit I was clueless about everything that was related to the car... I didn't even know what "CAI" meant..??? and I also hated it when I used to see the ol'timers flame other newbies about "searching"... I even think that I started a thread just like fastbaggedG20 did
I know the repeated questions get lame... tiring... and possibly unnecessary... but from a "newbie" standpoint, it's more like "Ask and you shall receive" ..
Personally, I try to answer at my best and the I suggest to use the Search button... whether they actually ask a question... or just saying "HI, I'm new here"
I said it when I just started... and I'm saying it again over a year later... Be easy on the newbies... they're the next us...

No need to insult the newbie by calling them the next you.
