    tune up question....

I tried the search function but I didn't get what I wanted. I'm hitting 67,000 miles on my G and I was wondering what kind of tune up I should do. All I did was changed the automatic transmission fluid, that's about it. All I could think of on the top of my head is a coolant flush and fuel filter replacement. Anything else I should do? My engine is running kind of sluggish and I need some advice so that it can run smooth again. Thanks.

Scheduled 60K maintenance is air filter, spark plugs, coolant, fuel filter, injector/carbon flush, clean throttle body, idle adjust, oil/filter change. Check your brakes and tires for wear at that mileage too.

I'm a big fan of flushing out the old brake fluid and replacing it with new every two years at minimum.

What about the timing belt? should I change that also? Also for the injector/carbon flush, do I buy the bottle or should I go some place where they use a machine for the flush? Thx again.

I just used a bottle of the expensive stuff.....cant remember which one exactly...dont know if a machine would be more beneficial or not though....

No timing belt, you have a chain.

Theres always something to replace and fix, just keep looking around

No timing belt...just a chain which is a less headache for us. Do the plugs if you haven't. The scheduled maintenance and under hood sticker says every 60K for plugs. If you haven't done cap and rotor it never hurts. Check your wires "while you're there".

The TB cleaning/idle adjust is important. Alot of carbon builds up in the throttle body and on the throttle plate which can starve the engine of air at idle causing low idle and stalling. The plugs can go alot longer than 60K, but thats when they're scheduled so we do it. Since they're pretty cheap and easy to do, I would do them also. Oh yeah, a flush of the brake fluid was just added to our 60K schedule, thats a good idea too.
