The blackout section is 30 minutes from my house, it's scary to think of my life without all the things that depend on it. Street lights are out too!

Nah, it's definately not an act of Terrorism. Sucks for our friends on the East Coast though. $hit happens ya know, hopefully we find a solution to the problem soon.

Good. Now they can feel what it is like to have no power. It happens here all the time durring the winter, and the power company doesn't really care to much about us way out in the sticks so it is usually out for a couple days at a time.

I work at a nuclear power plant just outside of philly, and we weren't affected by it, but we have been getting all of the news from the NRC(Nuclear Regulatory Commision), and they are saying that the reason everything went down was because too much power was being sent through lines that connect different grids, and one automatically shut down, sending all of that power through the remaining lines, which in turn are set to auto shutdown
