Good morning everybody!
I was attempting to change my PCV valve this weekend, and the grommet crumbled in my fingers.
Along with this magical senario, some small pieces fell inside the valve cover.
First, please tell me, should I be concerned enough to not drive the car until I can remove the covers and attempt to fish out the debris?
- If you feel this is something that can ruin everything and i must fix before driving... then can an oil change fix it? or do i have to open the valve covers? if i have to open up the valve covers, would you suggest an easy way to get the crud out? I've read thru searches and some people used a vacuum then an oil change.
Second, would you agree that my chances of engine issues are slim (with the debris that fell inside)?
I've never had this happen before. I am not sure if I should be concerned, or if the debris is so small it will just get disintegrated.
