Laid to rest my G20... RIP

I recently had to put my G20 to rest and just wanted to share some details and in case anyone was curious as to how much your insurance company might value your car.
My car was parked on the street at my mechanics shop, waiting for a new tranny to go in. The night before he was going to work on it, it got taken out by a DUI hit and run. The drunk ass took out an old 3/4 ton truck that belonged to my mechanic and my G20 that was parked behind the truck. I don't know how, but the guy kept driving and was later pulled over less than a mile away. My car was towed away because it was pushed out into the middle of the street, had to later get it towed back to my shop to look at the damage.

Luckily, the driver was insured. Even though he quickly lawyered up and tried to deny everything, they ended up taking responsibility and I accepted a settlement for my totaled vehicle.

    SETTLEMENT BREAKDOWN
    $3,898.00 Actual cash value
    $302.10 Sales tax 7.750%
    $94.00 Registration/title fees

    $4,294.10 Payable to owner

It would be interesting to know the car mileage and info. Sounds like you did well, my brother got around $3600-$3800 for his 1999 with 220,000 miles when it was totaled. He had to list everything that was replaced to get that much. He had to surrender the title for salvage but got to keep the car for parts.

Yeah, I'm not heartbroken over it. This car was mostly bone stock and needed a lot of TLC. I only had it for about 2 1/2 years and put 8k miles on it. If it happened to my 200sx, I'd be much more sad.

Here are some more details of the evaluation and assessment from the insurance company:

I think I made out ok.
