Alright good, I checked your connections sheet from your HU, and all the wires match up. Except on that sheet, the #2 wire is pink/black, and we don't have that wire in the nissan harness, so just don't worry about it?

So if I solder all 3 grounds together, don't I still need to ground them (connect them to the chassis)?

ground is also soldered to the aftermarket harness you bought which connects to the stock harness

i cant really help you with wire color because not all HU companies use the same colors

Ya but should I do anything else except solder all the grounds together? Should I solder them to the chasis or not?

Oh ya I forgot that there is still a stock ground from the stock harness. Now it makes perfect sense to just solder them together because they will all ground via the stock ground wire (where ever that is). Alll clear now

I cannot get those damn screws out on the brackets either! It's pissing me off!! I've never seen seen anything so tight (well except my gf)! I tried WD-40, tried hitting edged around the screw lightly with a hammer, and tried using muscle...but nope. My dad's gonna try and bring a good screwdriver from work tomororw, but I dunno how that's gonna go. GRRR!!!!!! My HU comes tomorrow, and I need these brackets!

    Nice write up!
I ended up doing it the hard way and re-wiring the entire car!
Threading the door speaker wire was the biggest pain in the ass... bigger than clearing out the front and rear corners!

Great job! This will help out a lot.

I was planning on getting an Alpine CDA-9830 headunit. Thoughts on that?

But besides that, where did you get that compartment that takes up the space in between the climate control panel and the new headunit?

Hey man, any audio shop should have that for you. Check like best buy or circuit city, and they should have it in

    This is mine:

It's a Panasonic CQ-C8300U receiver. The 8200-8300 series look the same, but have slightly different options. Look on the internet about the facts of it. It works, sounds and looks awesome

Hey ChickenWing, just one more question...

I've got all these parts, so I'm just waiting for the HeadUnit (I decided on the Alpine CDA-9831). So say installation goes all to plan and it sounds great.

I was planning on putting a Polk Audio component system in the front to replace the Bose speakers. Is it as easy as just getting the door panel off and putting the speakers in? Or would I have to do something else to bypass the amp?

Also, is there any way I can get to the tweeter compartment on the pillar going up the windshield?

    Thanks

this write-up is for use with the stock BOSE speakers only

aftermarket speakers require that you run all new wires to each speaker AND tweeter in your case ... and i cant even imagine how hard teh tweeters would be to do

the sound quality improved greatly after i installed my alpine HU ... and i think you'll be pleased enuf as well and decide not to go with different speakers

    good luck on the install
