True! I don't see why it wouldn't work then... that'd make the front speaks a breeze to swap with aftermarkets...

Nice write up bro, but why not just do a traditional amp by-pass and just use a metra kit on the HU? I did a HU in a P11 day before yesterday, and thats what we did, amp by-pass is really easy too. :-)

I've got one question though. Has anyone tried cutting the connector off the Bose amp in the trunk, then splicing the speaker wires together? So that you don't have to run new wires into the doors, etc.

i've done that. had a diagram somewhere at home. i ran all the speaker wires from the head unit to the trunk and spliced right into the existing speaker wires. have fun trying to tie in the tweeters with a 4 channel HU

i ended up patching into the existing factory wire harness and running my pre-amp outs from the HU to the wires that are carrying the line level signal to the amp. this way, i by passed the scoshe audio adapter. i think it actually sounds better. i had a post about this i'm trying to find. of course i haven't been on the board for about 18 months...

"I cannot get those damn screws out on the brackets either! It's pissing me off!! I've never seen seen anything so tight (well except my gf)!"

I start doing mine couple days ago and broke 4 Mastercraft screwd. on those screws. Then I figure out that if you just try to screw them in first and then out it works pretty easy.Just tight them little bit until first click.

    Question:
Hey guys, where do I find amplifier?Do you recommend to ged rid of it or keep it? My alpine pumps 60W per channel anyway ?

If you remove it, you'll need new speakers. I was doing some BOSE system research, and BOSE speakers are 2 Ohms. Regular car speakers are 4 ohms. So if you plug a headunit directly to the BOSE speakers, it'll look like a short and possibly overheat/burn up. Similar happens if you plug a "normal" speaker into a BOSE amp: it sees twice the load and output is cut in half.
My experience is that OEM speakers cannot handle the higher watt output of aftermarket Headunits, and they always blow within a few weeks....

lil lam said he wired the RCA pre-amp outputs into the BOSE amp and it sounded pretty good. Sounds like a good idea to me..

More direct answer to your question: If you plan on getting new speakers, then remove/bypass the BOSE amp.
If you're gonna keep the BOSE speakers, then you need to keep the BOSE amp b/c you'll fry your headunit if the speakers don't blow out first.

if u replace everything you dont need the converter, otherwise, get the converter to keep everything running right.

    Question

I think this was asked & answered b4, but I might as well ask it b4 someone else does. If I can get myself 2ohm speakers, I can use my stock HU & amp?

Yeah you are right, it could be tough, but there's alot of pretty big stero places here in TO, that would be worth looking into. BTW, have you ever gone to check out 'East Hamilton Radio' They boast the best car audio in the S.ON area. As for 2 ohm speakers, I thought I saw that they make them for the Infiniti Kappa series. It cost nothing to look! lol
