    Question Is it worth it?

I come to a fork in the road when thinking about modding my automatic p10.When i say modding i mean everything from det swap, exhaust, ect. As of right now i do not know how to drive manual on a car,but I do on a motorcycle.I wouldnt mind keeping an auto either.
The question is, it worth it to mod an auto p10 for more horsepower? Or should wait for a manual car?

I'm in pretty much the same situation as you; to mod or not to mod an auto p10. I'm really tight on money (thanks to college, which runs 43k a year) so modding my car isn't a priority. I also have 160k miles on my car so I figure it's really not worth dumping a whole lot of cash into a car that's already pretty old and slow to begin with. Fortunately, my dad put in a Stillen Hi-Flow intake a while back, which is good for maybe 2 hp. Other than that, I don't have any performance mods. The only plans I have are to put some heavy tints on my windows and replace my stock speakers (one of the rears blew out anyway).

you should just start with some cosmetic and suspension mods or a nice sound system. the motor is only one aspect of it and i personally would never mod the motor on an automatic car, but that's me. you should make it a nice cruising vehicle with nice amenities like a dvd player and so forth

If you have the money, go for it. You can always go with a level 10 tranny and not have any problem with the AT.

Indeed. That's EXACTLY what I've got planned for my G. Although I plan on getting the ceramic OBX header and some JWT S3 cams, my ultimate goal is to have a comfy long-distance cruiser.

Well, you may not have to upgrade the transmission as long as you don't have forced induction.

Everyone gives the autos a hard time, I dunno why? My friends P10 auto was sweet, in it's stock form (he never did one mod to it)... so, I don't see why you couldn't at least go the route many of our members have done and P10 WRC suggested, and thats to make a good lookin, great handling, luxurious street cruiser that makes people say "Wow, this is a '94 (or whatever year your P10 is) ??! I thought it was a brand new car!". I mean, if making it fast is the reason you bought the car, then spend some serious money and upgrade the tranny too, no big deal, but, otherwise, I'd just make it a dope street cruiser.. personally... But then, I think these engines are awsome in their stock form, something a lot of people don't agree with... DVD player...mmm... goooood...

    Same here.
I personally don't have that much of a problem with the auto(though I'd be a fool to pass up a steal like the OBX for an extra 12 whp or so). And I also have received quite a few compliments on how great my car looks for its age.
