I know on the 99 ecu there is a couple of wire you have to switch around. I don't know if it's the same for the 00+. I don't know much about gearing but I thought it was the gears in the transmission that determined the length and not the ecu. Unless you are talking about fuel cut off?

the 00 have shorter gears than the 99's and it only revs to 6750, i was thinking of doing some jwt valve springs and changing to an earlier ecu set up because they don't make one for 00-02 p11. All i get is wheelspin in first and most of second gear, i figured i would get more than 55mph if i changed the rev limiter to about 7500

ECU has nothing to do with gearing, its all in the tranny. If you change the ECU to the older one then yes you will be able to rev ro 7200RPM

Another option is the new e-manage ultimate. That is suppose to let you set your own rev limit. It will keep the injectors flowing even past the factory limit.

you can't put a b14 ECU in a 00-01 G20 any way, not without switching half the damn car.

Sorry, I don't do custom work anymore, PLEASE don't ask

Actually you can, all you need is the intake manifold, harness (which is literaly attached to it), and ECU. Im going E-manage but if it doesnt work, I already have a whole thing waiting for me after someone else that I know down here goes VVL.

isn't it mainly the b14 manifold an wiring harness. i also meant a higher redline would mean slightly more speed in each gear.....no?

A higher redline would mean you can take that powerband a little further and yes pick up a couple of more MPH. See thats great for me and my turbo because its big anything past 4500RPM and its ridiculously quick and hard to shift. I say stick with it let the LSD do its job.

You know whats funny, the non USDM roller rocker motors like the one in my car rev up to 7400RPM STOCK!! I dont know why in the US they didnt.

Hmm I wonder if the US engines last longer on average since we can't beat on our engines till 7200+rpms, but only 6750. I have a T25 turbo, so higher gearing won't really help me too too much

I just looked up emanage ultimate....and it said somethign about automatic transmission shift control...INTERESTING !

Can anyone tell me what is the safe redline for a roller rocker engine? My P11 also revs to 6750 an its not high enough because of new cams. I was thinking of replacing the ecu from the P11 GT (redline: 7100) but I'm not sure if I can do it without changing the stock valve springs

You have to upgrade to Jim Wolf valve springs to rev all the way up to 7500RPM

Our engines were not made to be high revvers, the concentration was on higher torque and more hp (5 anyway) for better driveability at a lower redline. Thats why the new MR20DE makes 145hp and 144lbs of torque (around there) at only 2.5k RPMS the non USDM roller motors have a smaller throttle body but a nicer intake manifold (IMO) with no EGR (except the 10:1 roller rocker found in P11GT's).

Im sure they last exactly the same if well taken care of.

I think you've got aboyt 10hp too much listed there. Nissan released the est. specs for the new Sentra MR20DE.

Whoops. Im sure it will feel PEPPY making that power at that RPM, if you think about it how many times do yall redline your car each day. Not much. CVT trannies are great for daily drivers too.

To tell you the truth I dont know, but if they do I have them. I checked on this motor with some of the guys overseas and they say they rev up to 7400RPM without a problem, so im sure they must be a little beefier.

thanx for the info. now I know that 7500 rpm needs another valve springs, but If rev limiter will be set at 7100 or 7200 rpm, will they be also necessary? I'm asking because I would like not to change the stock springs and make the rev limiter a bit higher than it is now (6750 or 6800)

but your car still is limited at 6800? or did you change the ecu?

i have the same problem you have , if you look at the dyno graph in my sig you'll notice that whp doesn't really drop off but when i shift to the next gear is drops off way to much , i want to go a bit higher in the rev range so that when the needle drops during the next sshift i'll still be in the fat part of the powerband
