    Acceleration Disfunctional?

Ok guys, I hope you can help me.

Tune up was done on the car and everything seemed alright for a few days. Now I get a re-occouring symptom from before the tune up. The Acceleration is delayed when starting from stop... Sometimes. It feels as if im starting off in 2nd or 3rd gear instead of first.

The throttle also hesitates to go when I hit the gas petal. And whether the car is cold or warm, Once it comes out of Park and it comes to a stop, The car bogs like it wants to stall but doesnt. When the car is in motion, If I hit the gas, sometimes it feels like im accelerating in a gear or two above what it should be.

    GRRR.

Do you think it might be the MAF?

What exactly did you change for your tune up?

I bought all my tuneup stuff from everythingg20 at MUCH better prices than the dealership. BUT if you want a MAF or something like that, let me know, because I know where you can get new ones for $95, and the dealerships want $400+ for them

basic plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air filter.

How do I check if the MAF is bad although that what I think is the major problemO here.

Have you changed the FUEL FILTER? I just did mine and I noticed a HUGE HUGE improvement in performance....you should definately do this.

I think when the MAF Is bad, your car will go into safe mode...why? Because my MAF died in June and this is what happened to me. Car would not accelerate past 2500rpms, and idle was wierd. It was pretty messed up, so I got a new MAF and everything was fine.

Did you check the gap on your plugs? I would take out the wires, cap and rotor and put them back in, maybe you have a loose connection somewhere.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow with the fuel filter and redo'ing everything.

Whats the suggested gapping on the plugs?

Also, the car does rev above 2500 rpm's, just slow..ly.

I BELIEVE, but dont quote me, that platinum plugs are gapped at 0.039" to 0.044" and copper plugs are at 0.031" to 0.035"
