noise from driver side suspension

Hi,well when I go over a bump,on the driver side i hear a big knocking noise,and my car slides to the left a little bit,i replaced all shocks a couple months ago,so I dont think that is the problem. Can somebody tell me if they have the same problem and how to fix it. my control arm bushings need to change,could that cause it? thanks
