Headunit Problem After Amp install:Please Advise
Okay, I have always had the Alpine 7863 headunit in my car and wired to a Boss audio Amp. The Boss audio failed so I decided to switch to a RF 350s amp to power my 2 8'' Kicker. I followed the instruction and put in the Power, Ground wire to the amp(The fuse is not connected to the battery at this time). I also put in the remote wire and RCA, and speakers wire to one of my subs.
I turned the car (CD running)on and subs are not running, so I looked at the amp and the remote wire was loose. So I tap the remote wire and it got connection. There was like a slight flame at the remote wire connection and at the same moment the headunit went to a blackout. I looked around at found that the Fuse was not connected to the battery at that time(that means I had never had power going through my amp)
So the Alpine headunit wasnt working, I switch back to my OEM bose unit. Plugged everything and, not powered up either. Note: When I press the eject CD button, the unit is trying to eject disc but there is no sound/light coming off the unit.
Please help.

blew a fuse in ur headunit more then likely. look on the back of the alpind and see if there is a fuse underneath where u plug in all the wires. check that. if it aint that check the fuse on the remote wire. it is the only wire that has a little white casing on it.

some headunits have them and some dont. mostly all the new models do. just find the remote wire in the bunch of wires that come off the hu. it is a white circular object where the wire goes in on one end and come out the other. its stands out and is hard to miss.
if it isnt that i guess u could check the fuse in the acssories fuse box labeled "audio" but 99% it is good since ur old radio works.
there is always potential u screw up the cd player itself. but this doesnt seem likly since u just sparked the remote.

well you stated that you tried the stock bose headunit and it didnt' work (I THINK....hard to understand because you are using a lot of DOuble negatives...don't do that. haha). If that's the case then you most likely blew a stock fuse that goes to the headunit wiring. Check all the fuses that the radio/bose uses. Good luck.

Thanks for all your response guys. I will go check all the fuse box tomorrow and also the fuse for the remote wire.
Just clearing up, the BOSE headunit wasnt powering up either.
I will do all these you guys suggested and hopefully I can identify and fix the problem.
