    ATTN all with Calum ECU

i have a few questions regarding the tuning with this ECU.
i'm running basically an avenir turbo setup on 9psi. i am trying to sell my pretty much complete emanage in favor of the calum ECU. i've been reading he can remove rev limiter/speed limiter/etc...how is it that i would go about actually tuning and burning a chip? i know i'll have to get a rom burner and all associated hardware but i cant seem to find the software so i can familiarize myself with it before i order/install.
any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

On a side note for those that dunno about Calcum. He's the guy over @ Sr20forum that pretty much does what JWT can do for your ECU except he can do it better + cheaper. But the ONLY drawback is that he only does OBD1 ecu's.

i found that he will give you a good base map but i found very little info about how one would go about actually tuning the ECU. i know you need the rom burner and such but i havent seen any software outside of the consult interface.

i searched on sr20forum and maybe its just me being search-lexic but i didnt find anything.

Ahh the future is bright for obdII though.. He recently got the daughter board working on them. Only problem is no one has any obdII programs for them yet but that will change shortly. He has a few proto type ecus being made and people are fiddling around with them trying to get programs to copy over to the new ecus. Woot!

Check the linky for more info on the obdII:

If you get contributers account axcess he has a forum where you can download working programs and burn them yourself onto one of his ecus. All the programs are sorted out by people running his ecus and alot of them work very well.

erik, you need a rom burner i know that much.
what i'm unclear on, is can you live edit this ecu for realtime tuning without burning a rom every time you make a change?
also i wonder if calum is good enough to let the ECU run on a MAP sensor in place of the MAF, using the same wiring. seems like it wouldnt be too hard for someone with a good programming background. just need a voltage scale from a given sensor and adjust fuel tables accordingly to that instead of the MAF scale..who knows...certainly not me..if i did i'd be running megasquirt.
