I don't own a p11 so take this with a grain of salt but from what I've read bypassing the clutch inhibitor relay on the p11 is what allows you to start the car. On the p11, rewiring the pnp switch will only get rid of the check engine light code.
On my B15 it did more than get rid of my light, it allowed me to start the car because the when I had the automatic ecu still in there, the car would think it's in park or neutral and allowed me to start it. The b15 doesn't have a clutch inhibitor relay on the automatic cars so the only way to get it to start is by rewiring the pnp switch.
Currently, my b15 will only start if it's in neutral. If left in gear it will not even try to crank and I'm using a manual ecu as well. I rather it this way because I have a remote starter installed. I don't have to worry about leaving the car in gear and having it jump forward if I remote start it. It simply won't crank if it's left in gear.
