Kenneth's (partypulp) 1996 Nissan Primera 2.0 SRI hatchback
G20.net: How, when & why did you first acquire your Primera 2.0 SRI?
partypulp: After my bad experience with Audi 80, I decided to take the bus for a couple of years. I used this time to look in different magazines, adds etc. Was hoping to find a Primera SRI sedan, but in those days I could not find any. So I went for the next best thing, a 1996 Nissan Primera 2.0 SRI hatchback. After a test ride I fell in love and bought her the day after. Today, almost 3 years later i'm still in love with her.
G20.net: What were your original plans for the car and have they changed?
partypulp: I had a couple of plans in the beginning. I wanted to lower it, tint the windows, debadge it, bigger rims, paint some details inside the car and some engine mods. I did all this and much more in the year to come. I also wanted to put in a turbo, but that idea did not go as planned.. Its so expensive here in Norway.
G20.net: What performance modifications have you made to your car?
partypulp: Well not that much. Got the groundwire kit from this forum, Pipercross airfilterkit, Primera GT headers, Optima redtop battery, 2.5” custom exhaust, magnecor competition sparkplug cables, B&M shortshift and advanced the timing to 20*.
G20.net: Do you have any dyno numbers?
partypulp: No.. Don’t feel I need that yet.
G20.net: What suspension modifications have you made to the car?
partypulp: Lets see. Got a sparco front strutbar, Cobra lowering springs (40mm) and some Kyb AGX shocks. I’m happy with this setup for now, but not sure for how long.
G20.net: Any cosmetic modifications to the exterior?
partypulp: Custom grill with black mesh, debadged the car, Renault Laguna front lip (painted the cars color, with black mesh), black siderepeaters, painted the lists on the doors, painted the handles, tinted the window 35%, leidl back bumper, custom muffler tip, Carbon hood, ligthbrows, side skirts, Aerocatch hood locks, Koya CE 17” rims.
G20.net: How about the interior?
partypulp: LEDs in the instruments and the heater, custom gear cover, momo beltpads, raceseats, blue and black carpets, painted some of the interior.
G20.net: Have you made any upgrades to the stock sound system?
partypulp: Pioneer deh p8000 headunit, Planet Audio p6000 amp for the front system, Phoenix Gold ZPA03 amp for the subs, Morel Dotech 6 MkII. 6,5" 2-way comp, 2x JBL GTi 1200, Kinetik HC 600 - 600 Ampere Power Cell, Evus cables and contacts.
G20.net: Any future modifications we should look out for?
partypulp: I have a couple of plans.. New exhaust again…double pipes this time, paint some parts in the engine bay, HIDs, carbon or black vinyl on the roof and trunk, change some of the stereo, Brown Bread noise reduction +++ Have so many plans and so little time….
G20.net: How and when did you first find G20.net?
partypulp: I’ve heard about it from some of the more experienced Primera owners over her. Some of the guys used G20.net often and talked about it all the time.
Dulle ( on this forum ) is one of the guys. It took a little while before I signed up, but now i’m in here all the time.
G20.net: How has this site benefited you?
partypulp: It has helped me allot. You can find whatever you want in this site. Extremely helpful, and the members are very friendly. I use this site to get ideas for our own Nissan site over here in Norway. www.nccn.no ( Nissan Car Club Norway ). You guys have done an excellent job!
G20.net: Any last comments you would like to make?
partypulp: I want to thank all of you for making this a friendly community. Some of you have really opened my mind when it comes to cars and especially Primera/G20. Also want to thank the people who gave me this opportunity to be the MOTM!
