Just bought a 95 g20, Whats up everybody.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I jusy bought a 95 g20 for 500 bux to use for the daily commute. Ive been driving 700 miles a week in my 04 cobra and the gas is killing me. Anyway the car is a silver 5 spd with creme leather. Decent shape body in great condition faded roof paint, yada yada yada. It has a new alternater, radiator, ac compressor, and radiator hoses. Only has 110 thousand miles. The kid said it tries to overheat only when the ac is on. The car idled in the driveway for 45 minutes and no overheat with no ac on. Both fans come on with or without ac on. Fans come on right away with ac on, and upon reaching op temp come on for a short period of time then turn off. The thermostat gasket material looks original so I dont think the therm was replaced. He was told by a shop that it needs a h20 pump. I looked at it i didnt see water coming from wep hole, but there was buildup like it could have been. Overflow tank was low. He said the ac blows cold most of the time but not when it starts to get warm, thats a given though. Rad hose goin to thermostat was not hard, so I dont know, maybe an overcharge on the system? Maybe plugged thermostat, or maybe water pump. Car runs very well though, smooth, quiet, and plenty of power. Anyways thanks in advance for any input, and im glad to be here. P.S. I did search and although found threads with lots of discussion, there was no outcome to whether the problem was fixed or not. Oh yeah he gave me the keyfob but said it wasnt working. Can these be repaired? Are they expensive to replace? I am a parts manager at a dealership so I get parts cheap, however I have never messed with an infiniti or any import for that matter.

I purchased the car today after work and will be picking it up tomorrow after work at about noon. When I get her home Ill take some pics. Its not a looker, but its not a beater. You here 500 bux and think uh oh its ready for the boneyard, but i talked the kid down from a g note, he was from a rich family, already had a new car, didnt really care how much coin he got. It isnt perfect but it seems to be a score. I was going to by a p11 and make payments but this is much cheaper. Thanks for the quick replies.

I plan on driving it while I save some cash and buy a sr20det for it. Whats the easiest option for this car? Blubird, avenir or gtir. I have the cobra with over 500 ponies, so I am only looking for about 275 or so out of this, I think that would be enough to make the car pretty fun. Is the non lsd 5 spd strong enough for what I want to do?

another mustang guy, welcome . plenty of mustang guys on here now. we have at least 5 or 6. im a perpetrator though because my stang got stolen so i dont have one anymore .

anyhow, 2 of my p10's dont have a/c so i have no problems with them overheating with the a/c on . but my 95 overheats in stop and go traffic above 90* outside. one of my beater p10's has a brand new radiator in it, so im gonna try swappin radiators in those and see if it helps. i wish i knew specifically what it was but i cant pinpoint it. good luck, and let us know if you figure it out. i also have a water pump around but thats for one of the beaters. lol

WHATS UP GUYS, I AM AT WORK RIGHT NOW. I JUST ORDERED A WATER PUMP, AIR FILTER, CAP, ROTOR, THERMOSTAT, 2 BELTS, AND A SET OF PLATINUM PLUGS FOR IT. MY TOTAL 98 BUX. wELL SEE WHAT THAT DOES, THAT WILL MAKE EVERYTHING IN THE COOLING SYSTEM NEW, AND ILL GO AHEAD AND SPRAY THE CRAP OUT OF THE CONDENSOR IN CASE ITS PLUGGED UP. ILL PUT SOME PICS OF THE STANG AND HOPEFULLY THE G HERE SOON. I THINK THE WIFE LEFT THE DIGI CAM ON THE ROOF OF THE CAR AND IT TOOK A SPILL, BUT I THINK IT STILL WORKS. IVE GOT A DYNO VID OF THE COBRA POSTED SOMEWHERE ILL SEE IF I CAN FIND THAT IF U GUYS WANT TO WATCH IT. WOOPS SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.

i work at a specific domestic truck only dealer. Pics should be up in a while, I had to take a couple with the snake in there too, hope nobody minds. Oh yeah I just drove the car home 80 miles, stop and go highway and a short traffic jam, no overheat and runs 90mph all day, rides like a dream. For my maiden voyage it was pretty nice. Ive never driven a front wheel drive before....or a non v8, I have to say I actually enjoyed it very much
This kinda makes me wanna by a P11 as well....hmmmm...

those are the euro tails. they usually cost around $300+. they are the only taillights that we can get.

damn that would like double the cost of the car!!!! They look good though. Im more of a speed junky.... I think ill leave it lookin all 1995 stock and just drop a sr20det in it. The wife is hunting for the usb cable as we speak, so hopefully pics will be up soon and you guys will then know that im not some 14 year old that wanted to play I bought a car lol.
So who sells those taillights....maybe I can get the old dealer discount and help out not only myself but a few others if need be.

the taillights are only available in europe and not on all years of p10's. i think only the later ones. they are expensive and kind of rare there also which makes them expensive (not to mention overseas shipping)
