    How True

My Grand Cherokee (4.0 6cyl) costs around $25-28 to fill and my Expedition(5.4 V8) costs $30-$35+ The G20 takes about $15-17. I am planning on selling the Grand Cherokee to make some space for my new ride ('04 WRX) that will be here in June. That should be quite a bit better than the Grand Cherokee on gas mileage.

My best was 30.3mpg. I think it was someone from AZ that got 36mpg.

Spent that much on gas in my Sentra once..but that was the one month when I had a 65 mile (each way) commute and was putting in a 11 gallon tank every other day. But I put 5,000 miles on the car that month.

Once your talking about the 40mpg mark your getting into the very small displacement economical motor's like a Metro and then you got the Hybrids, a P10 even if it was driven brand new off the lot for the first full tank of gas by a granny that didnt rev the car past 2.5k RPM wouldnt get 46mpg let alone guys like us who thrive on modded our cars and enjoying each mod by punching the gas.

The MOST I ever got in my Sentra (1.6) was 44 and that was on a road trip doing an avg of 60 for 4 hrs each way...and the last 60 miles was straight downhill, so steep I put it in first for engine brakes and redlined.

Man, I'd love to see what mods they did to their car. Although I get around 25 mpg, I fill up more often since I'm always on the highway. When I get my 91 intake put it I'll advance it to 19 degrees and start using premium. I've heard of some people actually spending less fuel using premium gas at 19 degress than regular gas at 15 degrees.....

Well, I have a CAI, header, and advanced timing and I consistantly get 38-41 mpg on the freeways. But in the city it's only about 25mpg. One reason for my high mileage is the heavenly cruise control. The greatest invention ever put in a street car.

Cruise control isn't so useful in a manual transmission vehicle. The urge to downshift and pass is too great.

Man, I pay around $25 ~ $35 dollars every time I fill up my Legend. 3.2L V6 that swills on 91 octane MINIMUM dammit. At least it's got a torque curve worth tapping into. I can get perhaps 18 ~ 23 mpg on it... it's still a Honda after all, so even though I'm heavy footed, I could be paying a LOT more.

The G20 didn't seem TOO economical either though... I spent a lot of money on gas for that thing, but then again, I drove it a LOT and beat the crap out of it with daily use and hill climbing. It used about as much as my Legend does now *except my Legend is manual, my G20 was auto*, but the difference is, the G20 was happy with 89 octane, while the Legend breathes premium.

My G uses more gas than my moms ML! I think my o2 sensors are bad (even though the check engine light isnt on) but i usually get 19 MPG. If my lead foot kicks in i get around 14mpg...its terrible. I can squeeze 180 out of a tank. I usually fill up 11.5 gallons...i need to get this fixed!
People keep blaming it on my fast driving but this just isnt normal

Anyway, 4 cylinders can gulp gas too!!

That'd be me. Drove from LA to Phoenix on one tank of gas. That was going at least 80-85 the whole way too, if i would have gone slower (lower rpm) i might have got even better mileage.

Speaking of mileage, even with larger injectors (running very rich right now) and getting on it from time to time the VE motor still gets very good mileage, mid to high 20's in the city, 30+ on the highway. And i'm sure with a leaner A/F ratio (closer to 13:1 where it's supposed to be) i'll get a few more mpg back too!

Although I'm sure when i head to the track again i'll go through gas a whole lot faster... that big cam probably sucks gas hardcore!
