Think I'm gonna switch to Penzoil Platinum next oil change. I'm sick of M1 prices.

I'm running the Pennzoil Platinum, and I like it. Third oil change with it...and it appears that my dipstick is getting cleaner (had some varnished areas on it). The engine is quieter and smoother. Still get some start-up chatter...will anything stop this?

Maybe you need to replace your chain tensioner? Not an expensive part. Under $60. Buying used for the type of part it is, isn't worth in IMO.

EDIT: Oh yeah, get a new gasket as well!

Don't go for the cheapest, maybe step up to a 'high mileage' but as long as you do your oil changes regularly, that's key!

read thru, and still a little lost, i know 3 5/8 oil, but whats good for california? i live in upland CA, so i dont need that good of a cold start, just good at operating temp, 1-3redline shifts a week, D.D 107K miles...... one of the guys said 0-30 was good in his RACE cars in cali, so i doubt i should use 0-30 lol. so im thinking 5-30? what oil filter? thanks in advance, i just did the belts, checked plugs, wires, etc so now need an oil change.

    thanks again,

    What was Club RSX's price? I carry the 5w30 for $41.94 a case, 3 day shipping's $8, possibly less for 1 case

In that article I posted, Royal Purple was challenged by BP about its claims about a month ago. RP lost and had to rescind its claims on the packaging.
