    Engine/tranny Swap

Ok my p10 has been through alot and after a bullshit head job my sr20de is dead....... so i've decided to upgrade her start from scratch. I ordered a 5 speed sr20det with a topmount intercooler redtop a new wiring harness and ecu and i was just wondering what else do i need to complete her transformation and get her running again

i can't even say how many times this has been covered and discussed and debated.
SEARCH IT UP! unless you really just want to get your post count up haha like me
Here is one of my favorite G's swapped and write up

Your going to want to find out if that motor you ordered is for a FWD application and if the 5speed will infact work in the g20. Your best bet would be to source a SR20DET from a bluebird or avenir and get a 5speed from a g20t or SE-R.

I know there is a VERY DETAILED part list somewhere on gnet... but heres one I've been working on

    Core Turbo Parts
    1. T25 from W10
    2. BB Manifold w/heatshield
    3. BB compressor J-pipe flange w/gasket
    4. BB exhaust dump pipe w/heatshield

Fuel Management parts (this is important)
    1. Apexi SAFCII
    2. 370cc Injectors from an SR20DET
    3. Walbro 190lph fuel pump or 255lph

You don't have to go this route. I would prefer that. But many people will suggest getting a JWT or CALUM ecu

    Intake parts:
    1. FMIC and universal 2.5" piping kit
    2. Rubber intake tubes
    3. Greddy Type-S blow off valve
    5. Greddy BOV Intercooler adapter flange 2.5"
    6. Silicone hose for vacuum lines
    7. Vacuum T-fittings for BOV, wastegate actuator, boost gauge hookups
    8. HKS oil catch tank
    9. Air filter and Maf adapter plate

    Exhaust Parts:
    1. 2.5" BB/Avenir downpipe
    2. SR20DET exhaust manifold gasket
    3. Catalytic converter Gasket
    4. Downpipe exhaust gasket
    5. Turbo flange gasket to Manifold
    6. Dump pipe flange gasket

    Oil/Water Parts:
    1. T25 turbo oil feed line kit
    2. Oil pan gasket
    3. Nissport oil pressure adapter

    Electrical & Other Parts:
    1. Single DIN aftermarket Headunit & Line level adapter for guages
    2. Battery relocation kit
    3. (10) NGK BKR7E spark plugs
    4. 80 PSI Oil pressure Gauge
    5. 250F Water temp gauge
    6. 0-25PSI boost gauge

wow you have wayyy more patience than anyone else.

teh 5speed that comes with your DET is most likely an AWD tranny and is only good for a boat anchor.

black95 meant that the tranny you're getting with your DET is an AWD tranny and you cant use it, so you still need a 5spd tranny

you can get pedals from a pick and pull junkyard that has a G20 in there, is you find a 5spd G20, just take all the 5spd parts...

yeah my fault, i should've been more clear. The 5speed AWD tranny is not compatible with your FWD.

ok so you bought a DET motor and a separate 5spd tranny from them?

if so, was it about $400 for the tranny? I think they have jdm non lsd 5spds in their inventory

ok, then you can disregard my statement. A lot of times importers will leave the awd trannies on the motors because they are useless, and people think they are getting a nice new tranny and it turns out they can't use it.

i think you totally jumped the gun purchasing that motor without knowing a lick of what to do with it...

on the other hand. you have it now. so good luck on your search for parts! if there is a junkyard near you, that would be the PERFECT place to pick up the 5spd parts if you can get em all in one place! that way you'll also see how they go on! don't forget ALL the nuts/bolts that come with it!

post pics of the motor/tranny you picked up. we can easily identify what transmission you have (lsd, non-lsd, awd, etc) to make it easier.

You need to do alot of reading on how to do what you are planning. Get the FSM for your car from phatg20. It will guide you through all kinds procedures. Luckily there is tons of info on here and sr20. You can do it but you must research or you will spend a lot of cash and time learning as you go.
