Talking should i fix my auto tranny or five speed swap?

hey guys new to the forum and am looking for a little guidance with my 1996 g20t. So apparently aamco thinks my automatic transmission is going out. They came to this conclusion buy running a diag on my check engine light, but i am not sure if they just said "yeah its your tranny" or the really did check and came to that conclusion, that it is indeed the transmission. I have been through a few things such a tcu and replaced the tps, but its still jerky with the shifts and most of the time stays in second gear. Now my over all goal is to sell this car and get a p11. I really like this car alot and not sure if i want to throw another garbage p10 auto tranny in there not to mention the auto lsd trannys are very hard to find. Another thing i was contemplating was doing a five speed swap, this i have done before on a few other nissans, but never on a front wheel drive one. My concern is if and when i do this conversion is my cost going to reflect in the total cost of the car selling. basically what i am asking is does a automatic g20 go for more or does a 5 speed. im not trying to cash in on this car, i want it to go to a good home and not hassle with alot of hassle and changing around. either way, i need to put a transmission in my car before i decide to sell it. Hell might even sell it how it is.. thanks everyone ahead of time for there input.

Do the research and do the swap. You won't regret it. PITA in some ways but everything you need is on this site. Simply search the word "swap" on here and you will find much. Good luck on your journey.

if you are going to sell it, pick up an auto tranny and sell it. If you have the slightest inclination of keeping it, swap it.

if i do get another auto tranny can i just use a open diff auto tranny without changing the axles, or do the axles need to be changed to open diff axles.

i think one of them is different... not sure which one that is though.

have you tried a trans flush? if it is hanging in gear, it could be valves gunked up. i had the same prob with a jeep, would nto shift to 3rd unless you babied it, or shifted to neutral and back to drive, but i flushed it and all was well.

this was with 200,000+ miles on it too.

what i did was change the fluid and then ran seafoam transtune in it for about 5000 miles, and then changed the fluid again. (changed the filter and gasket 2 times too.)
