oh yeah, sorry. i stand corrected. the picture you were referencing from was my 00 g which was an automatic(bless her heart), and you are correct in seeing that there are 6 lights. My 99 g20t, manual tranny, does not use these lights because its a manual. those 6 lights are only on automatics to display the park, reverse, nuetral, etc.

i actually have a few blue led's left(like 5 or 6) if anybody wants to take them off my hands. they are the #74 bulb to fit behind the gauges

^^ I'm referring to the bulbs that you circled with black (for the speedo, fuel, rpm etc.) because in your small description it says 5 bulbs are needed to be changed but in the picture you circled 6. so which is correct? sorry to confused you.

i updated all the bulbs and things, so if anybody orders now, they will get the exact correct types and things. i had a 5mm bulb listed for the hvac controls but its really a 4mm. on a side note im kind of disappointed with my hvack led's they are spotty and those are basically the only ones available with that type of base, the top + side mounted led's are not available in this type. lame

If you change your mind about needing these, I'm down in Provo, I'll drive up and grab them from you.

Jae, I'm amazed at this, bro. Awesome to see that someone relatively new here has such ability, and I'm glad you're determined to hold onto a working G20. Thanks for this thread, it's a great contribution to the forums. You're like a wizard with LED's. I'll add this to the wish list for my P10.

im not a wizard, i know nothing of magic. in fact, in high school i was voted least likely to use black magic successfully. true story.

ps if anybody wants to contribute $78 dolla bills to the "helpjaepimptheshizoutofhisgaugesev enmore" fund i will blow minds once again with something similar to what i did to my 96 g's gauges back in the day.

Ah jeez, now I gotta make sure i make a trip out there for sure. I'm moving from mississippi to texas, so atleast I'll be closer. I really do wanna LED out the inside because all the dash lights are dim and ugly color. and plus the blue lights would match the stuff on the outside and engine bay.

i was gong to try it but i sold my stereo to chicken wing. i know for a fact that the screen is easy to mod with the transparent blue vinyl i bought off amazon. i would be willing to attack a stock stereo if somebody got me one. yeah thats a good idea...start a led mod store.

come one come all. jae will pimp your junk. send me your hvac and ill rock socks off till they say its illegal in the continental 48.

ill color mod the screen of hvac's and stereo's like it was nobody's biznazz

yeah sure, i just need the wire locations and colors. i dont have a working fsm right now, i sold my computer and get on gnet from my phone. so you would have to look it up, and then tell me the colors and ill make it purty.

but now that i think of it...your in toronto right? well if i did it for you, you would have to cut the wires out of the car and get the amp piece then send it to me. that would defeat the purpose if you cut the harness off.

I assume these will fit...What do you think? Gotta put my CF gauge in and want to do this.

    The first ones (Tri-powerd LED)
    http://autolumination.com/74.htm

Also, are the gauge slots the only ones that project over the whole gauge...For example if I put green in the gear slots, the green won't bleed into the, lets say, blue light in the gauge area???

yes those will work, but idk about those little nipple things on the very bottom of the light, i doubt it will cause any problem but if they make the led stick out too much there isnt a whole lot to hold the bulb in the holder so make sure its in there snug as a bug under a rug with a pug and a friend thug.

correct, the lights have their designated area to shine behind the dash, once you pull your instrument cluster out and look in the little light holes, youll see that the lights that go in the gear indicators have just a tiny little box of an area to shine in. the tri-leds that you are looking at for the gauge faces are probably a good idea, but it is very easy to get spotty lighting with leds so make sure you get even lighting. the leds i used were similar but instead of being at an angle, there were 2 leds on each side and 1 on top. i dont get any spotty lighting at all.....at least for my instrument gauges. my hvac is a nother story......
