feather the clutch in, dont just dump it. Regulate the gas instead of stomping on it until you grab traction.

yeah i know about not dumping the clutch, im wondering how high in the rpms?i do 2k "launches" lol in the G and im supposed to do 5k launches in the X, but its down for a bit, so im thinking of just putting some money into the G to make it the whoop-ass-on-the-way-to-the-local-supermarket type of car (CAI,!7degrees,Headers, and either JICs or AGX/Tein or some other combo, and maybe some 16X8s or something) but subways dont pay that well

I lined up with an 04 impreza RS and the only reason he beat me was because he had awd... he could launch from the redline and not burn rubber....

if you hold around 3500-4000 rpm +/- and featherp the clutch, at the same time increasing throttle, you should get better results. Always depends on road services, your results will vary.
Practice, practice, practice. Doing these launches will burn up a clutch pretty quick, so don't say we didn't warn ya!

I find that these SR20's aren't the easiest cars to get out of the hole quickly. It requires some good techniques. It ain't like old school V8's where they have so much torque, there is little chance of bogging. Release the clutch too fast with the SR20, they can bog with good traction...or burn the tires with too little traction...

Ya, 3.2 second 60' time....you just lost the race.

    good luck.

I agree 3500 - 4000 rpms and feather the clutch. Be careful it is really hard on the clutch it will wear down after a about 3 runs or so if you have OEM setup. I haven't done multiple launches on my stage one clutch yet.

i'm not sure if it will wear down after only 3 runs, HOWEVER, like this man says, it is very hard on the clutch.
If you have a weak clutch to begin with, it will start slipping on its own pretty quick (bad thing) probably after 3 runs...

My would say that if you plan on practicing do research on a replacement clutch that will last and take the abuse. Be prepared to purchase a new clutch and install it yourself or pay someone to do it. (typically $200-$400 labor).

    Good luck.

This was based of a previous experience with the old OEM clutch. The new clutch is in a completely different category. Also it was done in about a period of 20 mins with a burnout for tire prep as well. By wearing down I don't mean the clutch is destroyed completely just that the heat builds up and causes it to slip easily.

60' at 2.468. hmmm, there's guys that can get into the low 2's on street tires w/o mods with these p10/p11's. smoking the tires like that, i'm surprised at a track you could do that well. Tracks are usually "slippery".

    Nice video btw.
