    Carbon Fiber Fog Light Finishers!

It struck me last week after I struck it!

I was driving down the freeway at night and texting (never again!), I look up and see a black trashbag looking thing the size of a crouching person,

With no time to avoid it, impact was imminent. The resistance was noticeable, sound was bad, and i saw some stuff fly into the air.

When I got off the freeway I was shocked to see the whole passenger side corner of my car covered with white paint, my corner light hanging by the harness, WW lip off on the corner, my bumper off its mounting points (which are barely functional anyway...) and finally my foglight finisher missing.

3 hours, 1bottle of simple green, some zip ties, and a lot of detailing later I had the car nearly back to normal condition.

I was able to pic up a cracked fog light finisher from Chris (thanks for coming through on that so rapidly!)

And a free sampler sheet (minus shipping) of 8"by4" carbon fiber vinyl for $10 from my new favorite site: carbonfibergear.com

    Here are the results:

    Happy Modding.

    Denis out-

And back again... Had extra carbon fiber, the corners were a pit, but well worth it. No way in hell I'm gonna do the front!

    I can't stop wrapping shit...

    Now that's a wrap!

    Sweeet !

Couple years ago, I dappled a bit with some Carbonfiber foil. Never got around wrapping more complex shapes, as you have done so nicely. How about a how-to on wrapping with foil/fibers ? I would like that !

Nice! Doesn't your dad's friend have a paint shop? Take them there and get him to clear coat them and you'll be golden!

I like the FOB wrap...I've wrapped my laptop, external HD, shift surround...You should wrap you JDM duals shroud!

Yeah I can definitely write a how to on this, but what it really comes down to is a glove for 1 hand, a blow dryer, some scissors/exacto, and a lot of patience when it comes to wrapping small things with lots of bends and corners

Definitely feels like they got extra protection

Sounds like a good idea, I might have to pay him a visit when the weather gets better.

Well, guess I´ll order some 3M Di-Noc Carbon-stuff come next pay-check, and give it a shot. If I can get results approaching yours, I´ll be well happy. And then I can find a million things to wrap....

Ok. So I've never done anything with CF. Could you (or someone) briefly explain the process for applying the CF? Pretty please.

Not really, real CF is a lot more difficult to master than this CF Vinyl stuff. Basically this is just like any other vinyl, stick it on, apply some heat while stretching the corners or hard to get spots, or getting out bubbles, and enjoy the look of CF without the price of CF... capisce?

Sounds simple enough. I just may have to place an order for some CF vinyl.
