Krist's (Krist) 2002 KR4 Infiniti 5port G20 click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: How, when & why did you first acquire your Infiniti G20? Krist: Well, I've been a fan of the SR motor for many years. My first car was a 93.5 SE-R. Knowing that I was going to get married and start a family I decided I needed something a little more classy but nothing too expensive. I looked at many different options but the G20 was perfect. It had an SR motor, four doors, all the amenities, etc. I have a friend, Jon, who is addicted to Craig's List and he found me the '02 G20 5port for a little over $10k with less than 20k miles on it. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: What were your original plans for the car and have they changed? Krist: Well, at first I just wanted to get a better sound system in it and do some small bolt-ons, but after a while I caught the mod bug and I was addicted. Being on this forum doesn't help my addiction either. ![]() click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: What performance modifications have you made to your car? Krist: Too many to list here, but the full list can be found in my progress thread. In a nut shell, let's just say a VE with N1s and everything else imaginable. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: Do you have any dyno numbers? Krist: Only from right after the motor swap. I was putting down about 175+whp. That was before I fixed the MAF, cleaned up the tune, and got a completely better exhaust set up. I'm not sure what I'm putting down now but let's just say that when the VVL activates on first gear... my tires break loose. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: What suspension modifications have you made to the car? Krist: I'm running S-Techs on AGXs with Koni bumpstops. I have the Cusco front bar, the Octobar in the rear, and the Progress rear sway bar. I really love the way G20s handle. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: Any cosmetic modifications to the exterior? Krist: Not really, I like to keep it sleeper style. I've done a few small things like clearing out the corners and what not but nothing major. I wanted to keep the car looking like it had nothing more than factory options, that's why I have Nismo wheels and B15 Brembos. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: How about the interior? Krist: The shift surround needed some touching up so I decided to do the entire dash trim to match it. For some reason my car didn't have the Sport floor mats so I bought some factory all season mats for the front. My short shifter keeps the shift knob low and I replaced the stock knob with the 300ZX knob. I also added a USB jack for my ECU where the heated seats option would be. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: Have you made any upgrades to the stock sound system? Krist: Oh yeah, I have a Pioneer HU with a beautiful OLED display. My front components are Focal K2Ps and the interior speakers are powered by a JL 300/4 amp. In the trunk I have 2 JL 10W3s powered by a JL 500/1 amp. It's a little bit better than stock. ![]() ![]() ![]() click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: Any future modifications we should look out for? Krist: I still need to install my Killerglass race tube and maybe this spoiler I have sitting in my garage, but otherwise I'm pretty much done. But I'll admit, in the back of my head I'm thinking VE+T. If I do that it will be a small turbo that spools fast. I wouldn't be looking for huge HP on the top end, looking more for quick TQ on the low end, but we'll see. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: How and when did you first find G20.net? Krist: I used to crawl on another SR forum back in the day and when I got my G20 there section just brings you to G20.net. So back in mid year of 2006 I found myself on this forum. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: How has this site benefited you? Krist: Benefit me? This site will be the death me I tell you. Ever since I registered I've some how found a way to blow all my money on my car, thanks a lot guys! With out G20.net my car would probably be bone stock with just a nice stereo and I would have missed out on meeting so many cool people. I love going to meet ups, we have a really great community here. I owe everything to this forum. click image(s) to enlarge G20.net: Any last comments you would like to make? Krist: Thanks for the honor of being MOTM! There are too many people to thank individually but a few I definitely have to mention... Thanks to Tio Dave, Jon, Justin, and Kyle for the hospitality when I'm out in AZ. Thanks to GregV at GSpec for all the help and work on the motor swap. And thanks to all the local peeps for coming out to our meet ups and making the west coast the best coast!
