2) You DO NEED A STARTER. I don't know how everyone else was able to get away without buying a manual starter.

care to elaborate one why you needed the starter. when i did my swap i use the auto one and didn't see any reason that i would need a different starter.

I'll let you guys know tomorrow and try to post pics. I'm going to get it back in the air and take the starter out and see what's going on. My buddy that is a Nissan Master Tech was with me when we jumped the inhibitor relay. You can hear the starter clicking loud as day but the car doesn't move.

If we kick-start it, it fires right up and runs smooth as glass. BTW, 5 speed ROCKS.

I'm still using my auto starter as well, two years later with zero issues.

Could be something came loose inside the starter when you removed it?

Fullah, exactly correct. Due to that big black bracket on the back of the intake (which I've now removed) we could not see the starter leads correctly. Apparently it came loose during the swap. The car now starts.

BTW, anyone have any luck wiring up the clutch inhibitor switch on the clutch pedal? It is really sketchy to be able to start it in gear.

i just put a jumper wire in place of the relay. didn't want to run the wire all the way from the pedal and try to find out which wires in the harness to tap into.

B15 and p11 are the only ones you can grab the same transmission from. They are probably going to be pretty spendy (upwards of $1k). If you get a non-lsd you would have to get the same axles.

If your mechanic knows whats wrong, I would look into seeing if it can be repaired.

Part 4 of the op mentions needing longer bolts if you're using a lightened aftermarket flywheel...anybody know where to source those?

thanks alot for your information because i was going to ask u the same thing. i have a 02 p11 want to convert it to mannuel. the only question is does it use cable or shift linkage to shift and if so do you have to make holes to put shift linkage or holes are there.

stock 5speed manual= shift linkage
sentra spec V 6speed (alot more work than a 5speed)= cable linkage.

the hole is already there, you don't need to cut anything.

that spacer? If it's the one i think your talking about then it's the same from the auto, I just reused mine. I've got a spare from a manual if you really want it to be completely manual

i believe that the 2.0 b15 will bolt right up (as long as it's the sr20de motor) but the 2.5 will need the p12 bellhousing for the transmission to bolt up, but then you'd have a 6speed instead of a 5 speed.

You can remove the crossmember by using a second jack to lift the motor correct? What is the best location to do so?
