Nick's (G-ealousy) 2001 G20t (P11) ![]() G20.net: How, when & why did you first acquire your Infiniti G20? G-ealousy: I bought my current G20 pre-owned, back on April 25th, 2002 with only 8,402 miles on it… Aaahh… I remember it like yesterday… JUST joking… No, but seriously, that was the date… and the mileage... I had a white P10 that I adored, but my friend Justin was in the market for a new car, and Infiniti of Denver had this Sandrock P11. My friend Adam worked at I of D so he had the hookup. They had this sticker at around $19k, but, I was able to walk for $16,5. I sold my P10 to my friend, who was then hit by a drunk driver about 2 months later… It totaled the P10… Just another story of G20’s saving lives though… ![]() G20.net: What were your original plans for the car and have they changed since? G-ealousy: Like everyone it seems, it starts off small. Me to my wife: “I’m just going to buy some springs to lower it, and that’s it”. Me to my wife: “I’m gonna have to get some shocks for those springs too” Me to my wife: “I’m going to need a new air filter soon, I might as well just buy this one”, and so the story goes. I honestly did not have plans for the car when I bought it other then lowering it… but as all of us know, I caught the bug, and I have slowly been doing small things along the way, as money permits… .... G20.net: What performance modifications have you made to your car ? G-ealousy: Sadly, that’s the one thing I have yet to begin work on. I have not done anything in the way of engine modifications on this car. I installed a pop-charger from Stillen, but that doesn’t really count. I have been waiting for this extended warranty to expire before proceeding to the engine mods, which, if memory serves, should expire right around the beginning of 2007.![]() G20.net: Do you have any dyno numbers ? G-ealousy: No, I never have gotten her on a dyno. She’s all stock so I figure the stock specs are pretty accurate, at an estimated 120-125 whp. .... G20.net: What suspension modifications have you made to the car ? G-ealousy: I’ve played with only a couple different set-ups. I had Tein Springs on GR2 Shocks and cut stock bump-stops. I later moved on to H&R springs and mep’s famous top mounts with Koni bump-stops. The future should bring some adjustable shocks... ![]() G20.net: Any cosmetic modifications to the exterior ? G-ealousy: Nothing too significant. It’s been lowered of course, which is as much cosmetic as it is performance oriented, a dropped ride just looks better… I did cut out the stock plastic grill of the air dam, and add in a black mesh to it to give it a sporty look. I recently added a black sport grill to match. The rear emblems were all shaved, and then I added in a Stock P10 Infiniti emblem (which is about 1” longer/bigger then the stock P11 emblem). I added a dual tip muffler for looks, but I would certainly not say that is a performance mod! I added the windshield visor strip for that touring effect, and of course, my most recent purchase, the 17x7 O.Z. Superleggeras…![]() G20.net: How about the interior ? G-ealousy: I have left the interior pretty much un-harmed. I did drill and mount Sparco Pedals into it, as well as a dead pedal. I added a shift knob too. ![]() G20.net: Have you made any upgrades to the stock sound system ? G-ealousy: Only Sirius. I am addicted to Sirius. I don’t know if that would be considered an upgrade though, I think more just an “addition”. Some of you may remember I messed around with a custom trunk sub enclosure, but I removed that a short time after, I just wasn’t satisfied with my quality of work. - ![]() G20.net: Any future modifications we should look out for ? G-ealousy: I honestly would like to add a nice deck in there, possibly video but not necessarily. If I could get a decent deck that could control Sirius and a iPod through it, rewire from the deck to the stock speaker locations and upgrading the speaks to some nice sounding equipment...I would be very content. Then on to the engine! .... G20.net: How and when did you first find G20.net ? G-ealousy: I actually found G20.net through my AutomotiveForums former life. I talked with many of you old timers there, and as we all know, the big migration to G20.net soon followed. I’ve been here since and haven’t looked back… ![]() G20.net: How has this site benefited you ? G-ealousy: How hasn’t it? I’ve made friends through this site, gained invaluable knowledge of so many different things. Any of the modifications to my current G20 were done by myself, and no one else, all with skills learned from this site, or at least, inspired by this site!![]() G20.net: Any last comments you would like to make ? G-ealousy: I really appreciate being nominated for Member of the Month…thanks to you all… It really is awesome! I also want to say thanks to all our mods and the owner of our site, P@, you guys all kick ass, keep up the great work!!!! |
