It rained a shit load yesterday and at the drivethru, my driver's side window would not come up until I basically pulled it up while pulling on the switch.....I'm guessing that my motor is shot to hell
......it works ok on bright sunny days but acts up in winter and esp during the rain - what an attitude....I read the previous posts and it seems that the 94 Altima window motor drops right in and works alright for our Gs....any one try that? also, please refer a good source where to get a window motor from without having to sell one of my kidneys for it..... Thanks as usual... |

Strike that. It doesn't include the regulator, just motor for $110. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...e=1326&ptset=A
I've got a good condition regulator for front driver you can have for shipping cost. Though you may be able to clean yours up and it will work fine with a new motor. |

common problem
this is a common problem with our old cars....Let the window dry really good and see if it operates more freely. If it does then your motor is getting weak.. Also if you could get a hold of the window amp get it and see if that helps. I have tons of experience with this problem. I probably changed that regulator and motor 3 or 4 times due to buying used parts. and if your window is stuck at a postion where you cant unbolt the window, then i will be sure to include you into my prayers...good luck...check ebay...

^^ lol yea i'll keep you in my prayers too
mine are slow but work alright still. if i find some extra cash, and if it really bothers me, i'll probably get some new motors for the driver and passenger sides to compete with the speeds of the new car windows

lol yea, it wasn't too funny when it was pouring out you guys...
but now that it's been dry for a couple of days, the window works fine ( not as fast or smooth as a new one but like it used to when I got her).....might look into cleaning the regulator or getting a new one if I can find some spare cash under the mattress... |

I had the same problem with my passenger window. Grease up the rear rubber window seal (closest to the back of the car) so that the glass doesn't stick to it on the way up.
Pull off the door panel and use some WD40 on the mechanism that slides up and down that center rail (window regulator?). Mine rusted a bit so I had to use a lot of WD40. This procedure had all of my windows moving like new (about 4 seconds from bottom to top). |

my pass side window gets slow in rain or severe humidity, which is common in miami. i pulled the motor and regulator, replaced with a known working one and it still friggen happens..got stuck down in the rain (at the metro station luckily) i had to tear the door apart to get it back up. i think i have a spare working motor separated from the regulator, its for the rear pass though...i dont know if it would just mount on to the front driver regulator, but i dont see any reason why nissan would have made different motors for each regulator.

I talked to a Mechanic about this and he said the G20 was notorious for doing this. He said you have to lubracate the window tracks with some sylicon lubricant. I had the same problem, especially when it turned cold but it now works with his suggestion.

On the rubber / felt window tracks spray silicone lubricant is the best stuff to use. On the regulator if you use anything spray white lithium grease is the best. WD40 will thin the grease that is there and is easily washed away by water, so not the best choice.
90s Nissan products for some reason do seem to be a weaker power window design. Weak motors and bad regulators is a pretty common problem. I have a couple old Toyotas and never had power window problems. |
