Arrow P11 Projector Lense G20 Headlight Design.

Projector Headlights with !!!"Angel Eyes" are HERE....
(I have updated the images)

I have worked the last 3-4 hours transforming the new Class-5 BMW headlights with an installed "Angel Eyes" into one of the experimental headlight that I have bought on ebay recently.

Headlight Detaild Design

Closed Headlight With Cover ON:

I am planning to doing my actual headlights these weekend after I work out all minor design details with this one.

The lighting will be like this:
- 10,000K (ultra white/purple) light from projector lense.
- Extra-white angel eyes on both headlights.
- A greenish background backlight that will originate from the
back of the projector base and span lightly across the
headlight.

Planning to use a more-empty left side of the headlight to create some other effects..... (?? slits in projector head to project something there ??) .... stuff may change as I hear replies...

You headlight cusomizing buffs please post suggestions or other ideas that might make this better or offer other people an opportunity to easily switch their headlight design

i think it is very kool how your taking the idea to the "testing" stage. looks pretty good, one thing though is how the reflectory housing is so large, with the projector in there seems awkward. i would sugest doing something to fill in the large space. or was this going to be used for some kinda of black light "backlighting"?

I was thinkink of maybe attaching several reflective crystals in that area to create interesting patterns, or maybe making tiny slits in the projector head on the left side to make interesting light patterns or something.

Maybe I will take some optic fibers and swirl them in that area to make a glowing design....

However what I think will that I will atach some sort of horizontal crystals (about three) that will bend light and create horizontal lines.

sounds very nifty. but i think only logical for show quality not applicable for road use doing it that way, if even be legal. but i say including more lenses like those of the multi reflector housing like on VW, the new Mazda6, or the new Saab 9-3 really nice looking design overall IMO

yeah. everything is in the original housing.
I have bought the German made "Hella" Bellast 10000K Purple - High/Low Beam for the H4 at lightingresearch.com. The bulbs are little bit larger, but that havent been a problem.

I will post the pics of the headlights when they are installed with all back lighting and coloring very soon...

Thumbs up NICE!!!

I cant believe it! I was just thinking about doing the exact same thing about 3 weeks ago, but gave up due to lack of money, and just plain because I didn't want to put that much effort and money into it if i wasn't going to show it. Looks kind of like an eye now, there is too much space. I was thinking what would be cool is to have projectors and a high beam seperate, like use the primera split high/low housings, and replace the outside lows with HID projectors. Just an idea.
Good luck though, cant wait to see them on your car.

thanx ... I forgot to post a picture of a closed headlight. Since the BMW "angel eye" does take up some space, it is does not seem as empty as some people may think...

Here is the image of it closed with a round white ring:

Yea, it looks better with the cover on because the angel eyes do take up more space. I cant really tell quite how good it looks until I see it on a car though.
Just a little info though, I saw a guy who put angel eyes on his 2000 A4 (one around the projector, and one in the highbeams) and it looked a bit strange in the highbeams, which are like the jewel headlight style like ours. Basically, the angel eyes would reflect off of the reflectors behind it, and would distort the circle so bad, that it just looked like some funky light was coming from his high beams, no circular definition. I think it would be even worse on our cars because the headlight is so large. To solve this, what I would do is get some silver mirror (or chrome) spraypaint, mask off the front of the angel eyes, and paint the back half (facing the inside of the light). This would keep the light from the angeleyes from reflecting into the headlight reflectors, giving you a dark headlight, and bright angeleyes. Thats my theory anyway.

And a little DIY for angeleyes:http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/angel_eyes.htm

Thanks for the suggestion...
This might be a problem but I will try to put in in the car now and see how it looks. I am sure there is something we can do to make it better if it does become a problem.

However, the light structure came directly from the beemer arangment and their cars do not have any issues with that. I think it is when you go totally home-made thats when you encounter problems. . .

Don't really know... will test it now, maybe take a pic and post it or something.....

Arrow So I have TRIED The headlight ...

Headlight In Action...

I have tried to connect the headlight and i am very satisfied. Even through the "angel-eye" does not have its own coloring because of its position (and maybe because it is daytime), it creates and adds to an interesting design.

Becauase of the limiting length of the headlight power cable, I wasn't able to properly fit the headlight bulb and secure it, which was responsible for a sort of slanted (imbalanced) light source. However, that should be resolved when everything is secure and in order.

The headlight looks different.. LIKE it? NO??

Look at different images that I took:

They look pretty cool. Not a huge fan of the purple, but that's more of a prefence thing.
I must commend you for the original idea and the initiative to try it.
