IACV = Meltdown

Well the famous p505 for the iacv code came up. Decided to find out what the issue was. Started taking it apart and couldn't get the plug off the iacv. Once I did get it off, it was clear to see that the pins inside the connector and the iacv melted together.
Here is a pic

So I bought a new iacv and replaced the connector. Put everything back together and the car started right up. However it had a high idle of 1500 rpm. Did the iacv relearn and nothing changed. So took everything apart and decided to diagnose the issue. The connector and the wiring was fine. The iacv was also fine. So decided to take a look at the ecu. Took it apart and found this.

It melted inside as well. The output resistor melted and it is the reason for the high idle.
Now the question comes to either replacing the ecu or solder a new resistor.

Just wanted to share....

This is extremely common in many Nissans (along with the electric engine mounts in the Maximas).

Never had any issues with maximas and I own 2 of them. The g20 has given me more problems and issues to diagnose and fix then the maximas.
Well I am now looking for an ecu now. Then have to tow the vehicle to get the key programmed to the new ecu. What A PITA.....

Trust me...it's common. I've done dozens of ECM/IACV combo replacements.

I have one. It was in my car before the 5speed swap with about 42K on it. Send me an offer. Don't forget it will require a key re-programm from the factory scan tool.

I need to buy a 5speed one since I just got the 505 code of death also. I have an 01 Maxima in my garage right now with a 505 code and the PCM is fried.

Well I took the car to the dealer last night. I drove it there with the bad ecu and then swapped the ecu. Dropped the car off and they programmed the keys this morning. Car started up fine but had a high idle. I didnt want to mess again with the re-learn for the idle so I had the dealership do it for me.

FUCK this iacv BS... that is all...

Nissan programmed the keys to the car. I wanted them to do an idle re-learn and they failed. They updated the ecu firmware but for some reason could not get the idle to be normal. So the idle is still at 1500 rpm and the car bogs and drives weird under 2k rpm....

Bogging under 2k sounds like more than an IAVL problem.

I will look further into the issue when the weather gets better. But as of now the car has a pending p505 code and a stored p505 code. I looked at the FSM and the wiring diagram and the signal goes directly from the IACV to the ECU. So there is nothing in between. I already replaced the ecu because it melted and replaced the iacv ( used one might be bad ? ). I will re-check my wiring to make sure it is correct.

Well I fixed the idle. Now by looking at the tach, the idle is under 1k. Car starts up and idles fine when it's cold. Before it would hold idle at 1500rpm.

Now my next issue is it the fact the car seems to have a limiter between 1500rpm and 2k. I give it gas and rev it till that rpm and it keeps bouncing off till I give it more gas. When more gas is given, the car manages to rev Past it. Basically a hesitation.
Any ideas ? I swapped maf sensors and that did not fix the issue. I also swapped the tps and that did not fix the issue.
Now i am stumped...

I got my issue figured out. I replaced the tps and then adjusted it per FSM and the car is back to normal now
