96 p10 auto transmission ?'s

I am in the process of getting the wife's g20 on the road again. It is an AUTOMATIC. It starts and drives however, shifting from park to drive/ reverse takes a few seconds for the transmission to engage. I can drive it like this as it doesn't bother me too much. i drive roughly 70 miles a day and want to keep it reliable. The transmission doesn't seem to be slipping at all. I have done some research and think it may be the solenoids going bad. are they replaceable?

Also I am contemplating changing out the transmission all together the car has 220k+ on the odometer. I replaced the engine not too long ago with a RR engine. I was told that the RR transmission was stronger than the p10 trans.

Which transmissions can be used as replacements? What else is needed other than the mount/ ecu?

Any and all help is appreciated.

not alot of people here do much with autos. your best bet would be to try to find a trans from a 94-96. 91-93 and 99 would probably work with a bit of improvisation. you might be best to try to change the solenoids but i have no idea.
