Just what the title says, now I know there where some of these already floating around the net but the P11 is just a little different and this one is for us P11 guys that are wanteing to make our own OBDII to OBDI step down harness.

Picture below of the finished product and the tools I used to complete the job:

The is the HAKKO soldering station I picked up for pretty cheap, cost $91 new

This is the HAKKO desoldering iron I used which makes doing this very kind of work a breeze

thanks charlie. nice work as usual.
No problem im not the best at soldering but i'm much better now, took me about 4 hours on the soldering and shrink tubing alone, connectors were already prepped previosuly. Its a mission but very doable.
Recently have had problems with my step-down i had made, thanks for posting the pinout, I have something concrete to reference now so that inj. #4 doesn't spray fuel like a fire hose and I get to yell at the guy who made it for me. Next time I'll be making my own harness, or very soon i will be lol THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS.

Your welcome but this just handles the step down harness there is more to it to get the wiring correct and it involves unplugging some sensors and or removing by way of de-pining them, at least when going from 99 OBDII to 95-97 OBDII but I will be sure to relay my findings once I install this step down harness and tune with Nistune.......so you can stand by but the step down is good to go.

Here's a quick little tool I fashioned up for anyone need to de-pin there ECU wire I thought maybe be helpful using an allen wrench which after being modified can be used to open the GATE (colored grey in the picture that keep the wire secure) and DEPIN:

Tool measurements:

Depining

Width: .046"

Height: .027"

Length: .860" (can be much shorter probably .500"

Gate Unlocking to side (flat head screwdriver looking side):

Width .110"

Sharpen to make like a flat head screwdriver

I'm going right down to OBD1 this is my second time using a step-down, first time, i didn't have to unplug much of anything due to the VE already being OBD1 from Japan - pinout is everything I need. Keep posting, that little tool you made looks boss, I used a bobby pin to de-pin mine.

I just have to put my 99 P11 harness back to stock from my previous setup which was 99 OBDII P11 to 95-97 OBDII B14
